Never really had any interest in the series, think I'll try the second one when the Steam sales come around again.
Demon Souls was amazing. Dark Souls was amazing. Dark Souls 2 was awesome but not amazing. Too much recycling. Bloodborne, as an interlude game, is phenomenal! Dark Souls 3 is supposedly the best of the series, so say the early reviews. IGN gave it a 9.5/10.
I can't wait. But my wife knows how much of my time the DS games absorb. She's not happy. Can't please everyone though...
I don't know how I managed it but I got to the release date without watching any streams. I haven't gone this blind since the first Dark Souls.
I can't wait for the lore videos to start up on youtube. Unfortunately, due to problems with my right hand, I'm not able to use normal controllers for now.
My first play through of 2 was tortuous. I struggled for every bonfire. I remember it took me forever to beat the Lost Sinner even going into it with Lucatiel. After I beat the game once it got easier and more enjoyable. It never lost it's challenging aspect for me though. I've still never beaten the Lost Sinner on new game+. Those damn extra pyromancers kick the shit out of me every time.
Someone else at work took the week off but it's all good. Gonna take my time and immerse myself in this game. Day one plus Estus Flask edition ftw.
/\Estus Flask edition? I'm envious. Then again, I paid full retail for the DS2 with the statue and it now goes for $30. I'm hoping the flask version is cheap next year. Amazon shipped my day-one edition today and it'll be here tomorrow! Been absorbed in Bloodborne, so it'll be bittersweet diving into DS3. Not saying Bloodborne will be forgotten, but I doubt it'll get much play after tomorrow. I think I got to NG+16 (no kidding) in DS2. It got to the point where it was immensely fun to fight bosses. Also, invaders were hilarious after a certain point. You either slaughtered them, or died miserably. No in between.
^ It's already $50 off Amazon and Barnes&Noble for the Estus Flask edition. Was originally going to get the one with the Statue but I don't like it that much, plus the Flask is more iconic imho.
