In dark souls I used a heavy melee build. In Demons I used a magic build. Now I'm back to melee, but lighter than before. I can at least roll now.

Close to finishing the game now, just farming for armor/weapons and finishing a few side quests.

If you want to try something interesting when you hit at least 120, respec a mundane build. Mundane can make certain weapons devastating.

Just beat the game! Had a lot of fun. While it might be the weakest Souls game it's still a great game and I liked some of the changes made.

I really should look into how the power of the mundane works.

Here's what it does. The weapon's attack power is cut in half, and the scaling is completely changed. Instead of scaling to a single attribute, it will automatically scale to whatever your lowest one is. The amount that it scales by is also significantly higher than S rank. The highest stat level that it will scale by is 41, adding a maximum of 211 damage scaling to any weapon you use it on. It's not useful for weapons like great swords, but it will make any low damage weapon monstrously powerful. So you can have a dagger that hits with almost the same power of a great sword.

I have to go, but I'll edit it and continue later.

I don't think I can handle collecting all achievements for this game. Still, congrats.

its easier then most people think it is, the 1 I see people having trouble with is getting the spell for sunbros level 3, but even so, you could farm falconers and the harvest valley giants for them.

    Played this game at University.

    I died horribly.

Did get to see the Ancient Dragon though!

    He killed me horribly.

So how does DLC even work? I've beat the game, and decided to take a break from new game+. Do you have to be at a certain level?

In Dark Souls the DLC could be accessed after you reached a certain area and obtain a unique item, which grants access to the DLC area.

I'm guessing they'll probably be accessible from any bonfire.

    Yay for DLC!!! Can't wait!

Did anyone notice what the updates covered? Just went trough them and it seems as though they're going after hackers a bit more now. The latest patch eliminates 'floaters' and extreme speed when attacking.

    Starting NG-7 right now...

Edit: Oh, and Santier's Spear +5 with Mundane? BEASTLY.

    Soul level 297, NG++++++++.
Sporting the Santier's Spear +5 with Mundane, PLUS a set of matching plain daggers +10 with Mundane. Best dagger in the game that now hits like a fast great sword and almost always auto-kills on a backstab. Dual wielding is just rude.

So I haven't read the entire thread, but for those of you who played the first game, how is this one in comparison? I just got the first one as a gift about a month ago and just beat it yesterday. Unlike most games, I'm far from done with it as the reply value to it seems really high, with trying other builds and going deeper in with NG+ and beyond. Actually, on NG+ I'm already done up to blighttown. Need to kill Queelag then hit ceaseless discharge and of to (shudder :(  ) Sen's Fortress. That place was so frustrating.

I'm actually a little upset I beat the game cause I forgot to kill the dragon on the bridge. Think I got every other boss though.

While it has a lot of naysayers it's a great game and more than good enough to scratch that Souls itch. If you haven't played Demons Souls though yet I suggest playing that, first.

As for the dragon on the bridge doesn't give you much souls, and doesn't have a unique soul to craft weapons with so you're not missing out on much. though if you cut the tail it does give you a sword but unless you're early in the game it won't be useful.

So, has anyone else been playing the new DLC? The first area is a lot of fun, but really difficult. Can't wait for the other chapters to arrive.

Got this game a day or two after it launched. I couldn't get passed the Pursuer, so I just gave up.

Came back to it a few days ago after remembering how much I like the combat system, beat the Pursuer first try. I am now advancing through Drangleic Castle, right after opening the one door with the King's Ring I got in the Undead Crypt.

Any tips as to what awaits me as I move further into Drangleic? I mentioned it to a friend on the phone and he responded with "Oh shit. Good luck".
