Who else thinks that prime and megs are going to team up in the third movie?
Aww great, they made Megatron look like Jason Voorhees...
People seem to forget the general idea that the Allspark was needed to repair transformers. Reformatting was something they never needed the Allspark for. But each time we saw a Transformer getting "fixed", it was because they came in contact with the Allspark. Megatron could easily reformat into a new form, but can't repair himself because the Allspark is now gone.
although that said when Optimus was 'reborn' I didn't see any of his damage carried over did anyone else?
Just "theorizing", but he was brought back by the Matrix...then combined with Jetfire. That combining process might have helped "fix" some of the problems and damage he incurred from his previous battles.
I can think of only one exception to this and that's Bumblebee. He got his legs blasted off at the end of the first movie, but they were reattached in ROTF. The Autobots, however, have Ratchet, who easily could have reattached the legs. We don't know what happened to "The Doctor" in ROTF. I know in the adaptations he was blown away when Prime saved Sam, but he just disappears in the movie.
While it would be nice to have an in story reason why Megatron's face isn't repaired, I think it makes for such an interesting look on the character that I'd be pretty willing to forgive the filmmakers if they don't explain it.
EDIT-Another thought: When they repaired Megatron and Optimus Prime after their deaths, they used parts from another robot. Hell, they probably used spare parts to fix Bumblebee. It might just be that there are no more spare Cybertronian part to fix Megatron completely.
Or maybe it just looks cool and the designers left it on there.
Yeah, that's the most likely case. Like I said, I'm fine with it not being explained because I think it just looks damn cool!
BTW-Am I the only one confused here? I mean, we get a few pictures from Mr.BlurryCam and they ask everyone to take them down. We get a three minute video extensively showcasing the figure from many different angles and...they leave it alone. It's STILL on the front page of TFW and it's still live on Youtube. WTF Hasbro? Make up your mind!
I was wondering about the vid, because I believe that's my custom ROTF Voyager Megatron, I painted up a while back.
I compared it to my pics and it all matches or at least from what I can tell, just wondering, because when I noticed I
thought it was cool to see some of my work in a video, even though it was more of a series of stills than an actual review.
i def don't like the cloth looking parts hopefully the leader version will not have those and look better the color scheme is just to blah white-ish grey is not a good color to me.
Are you kidding me??? That's the sickest idea in the entire history of sickest ideas.
Looks like Hasbro finally shut this vid down...it took a while.
Yeah, it took them about a week. I'm glad I saved the .flv file.
can i get that video from you?
You can leave them off in both modes. It's just an accessory to hide what's on the trailer or Megatron's face.
Dark of the Moon Voyager Megatron Video Review - Transformers News - TFW2005
I really love this Megatron. Easily the best of the movie Megs designs, and I like the anti-Optimus alt mode, definitely my fav mode for him since G1, although the recent comic stealth update is sweet too. I know some don't like the cloak, but I also love that. Looks very sinister and evil.
I may not like much of the DOTM toys so far, but this Megs is a winner imo.
I would love to see him with a head swap maybe WFC Megs head and G1 Colors!!!
I, too, believe it should be molded in cloth.
I'm going to call this guy Assassin's Creed Megatron "Nothing is true, everything is permitted".
Separate names with a comma.
