What can I say? I love Jolt, from the character designs to the figures, he just rocks! I painted the Dark of the Moon Deluxe Jolt to better represent his (all too brief) appearance in ROTF. Added LEDs to the eyes, and modified his Mechtech blaster into a Electro Generator for his Electro Whips! The Generator attaches to his back and the Electro whip launchers attach to his forearms. The Generator houses an inverter, switch, and batteries that power blue electroluminescent wires for the whips. Painted in durable acrylics, enamels, and lacquers then sealed for protection. He will be available on Ebay tonight, just click on my signature to view and bid. All comments welcome, enjoy!
How has no one else done this before now? I would've infinitely preferred this to my regular DOTM Jolt. Awesome job, Hank.
You can haz! Click my siggy tonight for your chance to win! I think it must have been done already right? Anyway, I'm glad I had the chance to make one as well! Thanks! Thanks man! Not sure, I do have a lot of brass and copper details on his techy parts. But I can clearly see the silver/steel/aluminum tones on my monitor. Maybe in the dimmer pics that showcase the light up features they may appear more brassy, not really sure. Never be as creepy/evil as your Laser Bee coin bank, LOL. Your sig gives me nightmares.... Thank you bud! I would love to see you have a go at it!
I love the whips on this guy, great to see you posting again. And will keep an eye on these auctions. So with these guys out there we going to be seeing any grimlock updates soon aswell?
Wow! Are the whips lit in the first few pics???? This thing is badass, I might even break my golden rule and bid on him just because I could never do what you do with smds
I wish Hasbro had made DOTM Jolt in his ROTF colors. You've shown how beautiful that would look. Not that they would have done it half as well as you did, my god that's gorgeous. Thumb up!
nice man as soon as i saw jolt i got three one to do well what u done and the other to have and touch up and other for anything really but jolt is really my favorite he never dies and i give 100 stars to anybody who gives him enough credit to have a custom nice man nice
Looks way better in ROTF colors than "DOTM" colors, still can't figure out how he got a new deluxe molding.
I agree! He needed his on screen color scheme! I know how you feel. I liked the figure before, but love it now that I can see the details. I think I'll make another for my collection too. Yeah man, G1 Grimlock and Leader Ironhide will be coming up next. Also you may see an update that you find interesting! Me too, with some dialog and some action. I'd have been thrilled if they simply put him in Mirage/Dino's place. Yeah man, they are called electroluminescent wire. really cool stuff but they are not "plug and play". You can't simply hook them up to a battery, it won't work. They require AC voltage so you need an inverter to make them work. Plus they are tricky to solder too. The inverter, batteries, and switch are in the "Electro Generator" backpack. Then I have dual wires running to the actual (EL) wire. I have the EL wire housed and emerging from some scratch built forearm launchers that mount using the MechTech ports. So the backpack/whips can really be used by any MechTech figure. Thanks man! You ain't too shabby yourself with that awesome Soundwave(s). Thanks my man! Yeppers, I want to grab another to do one for myself when I can fined the time. I stopped trying to figure out some of Hasbro's marketing decisions long ago.... I wish it wasn't textured, I would have painted it blue to match the car. But being textured like carbon fiber I figured black was the best way to go....
Hell, I've seen a carbon-fiber hood before (the car was a ricer) and it looked silly. At least this gives it the feel of armor, which is better. Carbon-fiber's more of a VERY dark grey, but then again, colors like that are hard to paint.
