Dark Nova and Unicron

    Going through a couple scans relating to the Battlestars segment of Japanese G1 continuity, I noticed that a spectral image of Unicron was used to represent the mysterious antagonist Dark Nova in one of them.

    Specifically, this story page from a catalog.

    I'd like to note some superficial similarities between the two, that being the ability to reformat a Cybertronian with beams of light and only his head surviving a explosion.

    Thoughts?

    Dark nova also has the same sideways teeth as Unicron's planet form. Its obvious he's a strong homage, and was possibly meant to be Unicron revived originaly

    Three years late but i always thought he was some Unicronian opposite to the Thirteen or just a remnant of Unicron given new life
