Images for these are not up yet. According to the listing these will be available only at Yodobashi Camera Akihabara (Tokyo) and Umeda (Osaka) stores. Due out 1 December.

I don't think there's no need to be like "OMG exclusives!!!!!!" at this stage however. I'd say there's a very good chance these will be easily available at Asian stores such as Robotkingdom. Only recent true "Japan only" exclusives have been Microns.

 

Unicron's March 23rd. Prime's December 1st.

Since Nemesis Prime (Powerizer mould) is due out only a few days before this Optimus, I am hoping so....could be deluxe or Weaponiser if we aren't so lucky.

 

Energon Unicron Colours would be cool his rock avatars might come out that colour if formed from Black Basalt too instead of red sandstone as normal.

We already have a Nemesis Prime so there's no reason to have that again - but a darker shade Optimus that is sort of leaning towards Shattered Glass colours would be nice.

I'd be quite happy if the Optimus was the Orion Pax Deluxe mould in Nemesis Colours though. but they might be wanting something that can combine with Unicron - and I have no idea is you can even hang Unicron on to other Voyager anyway ??? be that Starscream, Bulkhead, Dreadwing, Magnus, Thundertron or so on.

One of he Asian blog sites has images of Weaponizer Optimus combined with Unicron so I suppose a Weaponizer Optimus in Nemesis Colours isn't impossible (I'd not mind that either I suppose).

Shame they didn't think to do something else though like Deluxe FOC Soundblaster or Prime Acid Storm or Prime Sunstorm. or even an Arms Micron Starscream in G2/Universe colours (with the new ports Skywarp has).

I'll be interested to see what they come up with. It is a shame that so many Asian exclusives are either G1 based or based on new toys and they don't think to use older moulds from time to time.

As on the subject of Nemesis Colours or Black robots I've always thought all the Cybertron/Galaxy Force Convoys and Vector Prime should have a dark Energon twin.

Especially Evac/Live Convoy and Metroplex/Meglo-Convoy and perhaps even Optimus/ Grand Convoy as well - if they didn't do that already as a lucky draw toy.

As they'd complement the pre-existing Dark Nitro Convoy, Dark Fangwolf and Nemesis Breaker really well too - but they do not often see any need to retread old ground like that - even though personally I think it would be fun.

Perhaps in the next few years we will start to see Chinese Store exclusives - and they might be more open to a broader selection of stuff as I am and I wish more people were too.

"Unicron Darkness?" Interesting name...I'm thinking this just means a black and/or purple redeco, but I find it a little amusing because I wonder what that makes the normal version (Unicron Mean Thoughts).

Cool though. I've love to see Dark Guard Optimus be the FE Voyager mold, but if it's the Weaponizer I'm fine with that too. Honestly I'd prefer that over the FE Deluxe, I've found myself enjoying the Weaponizer toy more than I thought I would when I got Arms Master Optimus in hand.

 

When will Hasbro put out their own Unicron?

 

Calling it now, Gaia Unicron in Energon Unicron colors and Asia release of BBTS Dark Energon Prime with another recolored ARM.

Gaia Unicron is too big to be a Powerizer, but too small to be a Weaponizer so Hasbro didn't have a price point to sell him at last I heard. Plus, he's pretty pointy to pass US safety regulations.

 

Most of his points are soft rubber, but yeah outside of a store exclusive I don't see Unicron coming to the US.
