So, finally I want to ask, is Bumblebee's voice in AOE restored or not, you hear him talking a few times, but that sounds like his normal humming, like when he said "YEAH" in ROTF, is this his normal voice, or does he have a 'strong' voice like all other Autobots do, like he had in G1 or Transformers: Prime?

I think the one or two instances he 'talks' are similar to the way he talks to Mikaela and Lennox in movie 1 when they kill Brawl (when he 'says' okay).

I don't think his voice box is restored, and after four movies people might want to stop hoping for it...or maybe it has been restored all along but he just keeps on acting.

Well, if Bay doesn't direct the next one, maybe the new director will do it, what do you think of Brad Hawkins voicing him? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UVRl9ZIogw

You know? His voice, IMO, might actually suit the movie Bee. It's like a mix of G1 and TFP, but a little more mature-ish.

This is very clearly addressed in TF:RotF.

Watch it again and pay attention this time.

Sometimes I can't tell if he's actually talking or using the radio.

Hazekiah, if you're referring to the part in the start with Sam being a dick to Bee in the garage, I don't think I'd qualify his statement as definitive proof regarding the condition of a complex living alien machine.

Especially considering the look on BB's face when Sam says it and knowing how Sam likes to exaggerate comments he makes.

It's likely that BB's voicebox is partially functional, however, as there are many of those scenes where you just aren't sure if he actually said something or used a recording.

    Um, he can't talk.

And then he does. Very, very clearly.

Then he goes back to using the radio and humming.

When his best friend in the whole world says he's just "playing it up" I tend to believe him.

He's a youthful, fun guy who likes joking around with the radio and not getting too verbose. Seems pretty straightforward.

    Sam is not Ratchet.

I've seen buddies talking in regards to a friend with a broken limb say shit like 'he's just playing it up'. It's called giving your friend shit for the sake of giving them shit. Shia just doesn't deliver the line worth a damn to bring that effect across the way it should've been.

Its been fixed since the end of the first movie
He was having issues in the second film which Sam described as him 'playing it up'
In the third film we heard him speak several times
In the fourth film we heard him speak several times

His voice is effectively fixed - he just chooses not to use it.

You have a lot of buddies who are assholes from the sound of that :L

Anywho... regardless, it was fixed at the end of the first movie. I believe in the comics between the first and second film they explained that he was attacked by Starscream who damaged his voice box causing it to only function for a while at a time.

Actually you guys just like to read into things too literally. I never said *MY* buddies have said that, I just said 'buddies' as in people that are friends with each other in general, but hey...you love to make baseless assumptions as we have already shown.

It's something that's been shown in other shows and films, typically when a guy has a girl with him and come upon the 'buddy' who is injured. The line and scenes are typically delivered in such a way that the friend is jokingly saying that the one who is hurt is trying to get sympathy from the chicks or just in general, and as a way of boosting their friend's self-esteem/spirits since it's saying they are better than they look to be. So yea, real asshole move alright.

Speaking a few times, assuming he was actually talking, does not equate to his voice being perfectly fine and him just not choosing to use it. Unless the movie explicitly says that beyond a misinterpreted line from LaDouche, you are making an assumption that the movie does not directly support. Is it possible? Certainly. Confirmed? Not by a long shot.

I honestly never heard him speak in AoE. He makes a few beeps and an Uh-oh noise. But his mouth does not move like it did at the end of the first film. They are just sounds. Maybe he is playing it up, but he definitely doesn't speak.

He speaks right after Hound and Drift are messing around. He says something like "you guys are wasting so much time".

That came through the radio didn't it? o_O  It sounded nothing like Bee. If Mark is still voicing him...Hell in the credits Bee doesn't have a voice actor.

His ''What was that!?'' was definitely his own voice. It sounded like it was coming out from a broken speaker. And I think I read somewhere that his voice box is not entirely fixed and it hurts him when talks normally so he chooses not to. Most of the time.

Oooh yeh forgot about that scene, And that would make sense if it hurts him. same with his "What da beep" and "Uh oh"

I just assumed it was through the radio, but having thought about it maybe it wasn't

I'd say this is by far the most plausible from the actual evidence we have. Considering I put his only spoken line from the first movie in the BB avatar I made in secondlife, I've heard that one enough to tell that it sounds pain/strained as if it isn't working properly.

If Powerglide is right and the actual credits of the movie don't list a voice actor for BB (IMDB doesn't either), wouldn't that mean he didn't speak at all outside of using the radio stuff? I don't know if they'd just skip listing one for a single line or not.

Actually I wasn't the only person - optimegatron also believed them to be your buddies. So yeah, the structure of the sentence leads anyone who reads it to come to that fully based and supported belief.

"I've seen buddies talking in regards to a friend"

    That sounds like you are referring to people you know - whether it is your buddies or your friend. If you were saying it about a movie then my mistake. However then you throw a hissy fit and say the following;

You could have handled this by simply saying 'I wasn't on about my buddies' in which case I would have just apologised for the misunderstanding - however instead you were a douche and choose to base your response on past comments of mine rather than acknowledge that the potential miscommunication lies in the fact you posted a comment that could be interpreted in a different way.
