Okay so I got henkei Convoy from HLJ, and I notice this weird mark near the hinge of his grill. Is this is a scratch or crack? And will the damage increase through time?
looks like a crack. and if it is, it might get worse over time. EDIT: actually i have no idea if its a crack or scratch. looks like it could be both. do u not have the toy in hand?
Not quite sure, but the odd part if it was a crack, it would expand when I fold it, but it doesn't. At least I don't think so.
well I think it's more of a scratch since just that one side has the damage. I'm sorry if I was not clear enough.
kinda hard to see. rub it with a finger nail does it protrude out or is it a indentation? seems like it might be a slight defect in the molding process that was chromed over.
Let me tell you about a horrible experience I had with HLJ on a recent order. I ordered Masterpiece Skywarp / Thundercracker back when they were having that really big clearance sale. Both pieces showed up in the same box. Thundercracker was in perfect condition. Unfortunately Skywarp was missing a purple plastic piece on one of his legs (you couldn't see this unless he was in bot mode.) I looked everywhere in the box for it, no dice. After contacting HLJ they asked me to send Skywarp back, which I did, along with the original box/ accessories / manual / sticker sheet. HLJ then informs me that they decided to send me a brand new figure. A few weeks later I get the replacement in the mail. still sealed with HLJ's packing tape. I opened the box and the Masterpiece box appeared to be sealed with plastic wrap, but after taking that off I noticed that the plastic tape around the box had already been removed on one side. This time the Skywarp was missing all accessories other than his arm lasers. The pilot, little ring for holding megatron, missilies, base, plastic stand that connects to the base, instructions, all of it just weren't there. To their credit, HLJ is again sending me a 'brand new piece', only this time they did not ask me to send what I had back to them. To make a long story short, it's quite possible that you got a damaged piece from HLJ. They're good about making things right, but it takes a lot of time / shipping costs. (I still have not been refunded for the shipping charges on the initial return.)
I got a letter from HLJ telling me to send it back for a refund... I dunno if I wanna go through with that..
-_-' ugh I think I'll just play with mine til it completely breaks and buy a new one in the future....
No not really. The crack is just on one side anyways, and so far it hasn't opened up when I folded it back and forth.
