I don't know if anyone has tried this before but here you go,

First, I took 18g wire and twisted. Second, place the wire about where you are "welding" and bend the wire along any folds or bends. Third, hit your wire with your soldering iron (Don't be like me and burn yourself after you just burned yourself!) Fourth, add paint and done.

One tip, start heating in the center this should help keep the wire where you started. And again, don't burn yourself! I lost count around thirty times last night. (epic fail)

 

I think I could see some use from this when added to some other things.

Nice work on the custom and great idea. One I'd use if I didn't utterly suck withh a soldering iron.
