So far it has. My G1 Superion is starting to show some yellow again though. Maybe the formulation of the plastic was different, but I didn't use as strong a hydrogen peroxide solution on Superion either
With as many vintage specimens out there for those, I don't really see the point. I'd think this kit would benefit more from continuing to try to make a Jetfire to Skyfire conversion. That being said, I really think this kit should have the aim of making a vintage toy still look vintage if that's the case. I would like the option of a "Masterpiece" grade conversion kit (articulate fingers/no 5mm hole, etc.) for custom projects. Regardless, I think G1 Jetfire is fine the way it is. The same thing with Ironhide and Ratchet, which is what this sort of thing reminds me of. The cartoon isn't the end all, be all of Generation One. The toyline is great in and of itself.
I have a question about Add-on 1 (I hope ARAFAT209 is around =] ) How will the head be attached to the G1 toy? Will we have to disassemble the toy in order to attach it? Would it be a simple task? Here are the parts: Add-on 1.
So, has anybody got any of these yet? I see some on BBTS. but i have yet to see any reviews for them.
I have the Optimus heads and they are awesome. If kronos is anything like these, it could replace Quakewave as the gold standard for 3rd party
I just can't get used to mixing the Vintage look with this add on. Might look better once the pieces are painted though.
Honestly this set would be cool just for the gun itself. it's too bad he didn't make a gun clip for it. this way it could clip on the other arm and he could carry both. I also think a head with face mask and light up red visor would have been awesome!
Really if you add up the pieces in the kit it's worth more than $40. Big guns. Articulated hands. Head for any purpose you wish. Customizing and such. I have two. But a person might like the kit with no G1 Jetfire to put it on. I could picture a custom junkion with this head painted up.
