Man, Germantown and below are always tales of sadness and despair.

 

Bel Air Target has two The Fallens, and some random other stuff.

Aberdeen Walmart has nothing but a ton of wave 1 Legacy, wave 1 Velocitron Deluxes (IE one Road Rocket and piles of Blurrs and Burnouts), and I guess some new SS deluxes (Crosshairs, Hot Rod).

Aberdeen Target is hilariously barren, to the point I think they may be doing a reset of some type. I picked up the last deluxe Earthspark Bumblebee there.

 

I haven't come across anything recently. It's either empty pegs or old stock that's been there forever.

Is it just bad luck or is hasbros distribution been extremely terrible recently?

 

What are your thoughts about retailers possibly caring *even less* (How is that even possible?) to dedicating store space and stocking new product in toy aisles since consumers started ordering online even more than ever since the pandemic?

 

Idk about the kids anymore either. I can't remember the last time I saw actual kids in brick and mortar toy aisles. Toys have become such an adult collector driven market and those adults take more mature avenues to acquire their products such as online.

I believe today's kids (Including my own) couldn't care less about toys. They care about electronics and nothing else. In my own experience, when my kids were younger, they had closets and toy boxes full of all the best toys that they never even touched.

 

I've seen kids in toy aisles, and kids trying to make their available money stretch further. It's not like it was in the 80s and 90s, no, but it's not really over yet. The problem is anticipating what will and won't sell, along with how much, and ordering accordingly; something that's more of an art than a science. Especially with kids, who are notoriously hard to predict. It's no longer a safe bet to assume "Oh, Big Disney Movie" or "Big Action Movie With Dinosaurs" is going to make stuff fly off the shelves, but a lot of places will still order product like it will.

 

I think one of the biggest issues, particularly with Hasbro, is they do a terrible job keeping “evergreen” characters on the shelves for toy lines that AREN’T for real little kids. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for kids wanting better quality toys seeing lesser-known characters they don’t know or care about on the shelves. It’s ridiculous how hard it is to find main characters and Hasbro is competing with themselves to get the next wave out, while most of us would be fine having a bit of breathing room and not feeling rushed to get figures.

I was at Target on Monday and a guy who owns a local toy store was clearing out literally all of their Haulathon stuff. All of these companies need to evaluate how they’re creating an environment that is anti-consumer and pro-reseller. They are legitimately missing out on their own sales with both children and collectors alike with these business practices.

 

They don't actually care about that, either. What they care about is the sale to the retail chain itself. That's when Hasbro gets paid, the chain's profit is in the mark up they apply to the item.

 

Belair Target has one Needlenose and Hotshot.

 

My daughter still loved doll isles and such. She is 8 so prob another 2 years or so she will be on the electronics train. That is how it went for my 16 year old.

 

Finally something at the Ordnance Rd., Walmart. Wave one and two voyagers for Legacy evolution. Picked up a twin cast and metal hawk. Tarn, two Leos, and Metal hawk is still left.

 

Grabbed the Metalhawk, Tarn and Leo's still there.

 

Lotta good stuff at the White Marsh Walmart: Velocitron Shadowstrip and Clampdown. SS Crosshairs and Hot Rod. And 2 Reissue Movie Starscreams. I grabbed the one Legacy Hotshot.

 

We're just never gonna see Galaxy Shuttle on pegs, are we, huh? Where's everyone getting their Galaxy Shuttles, anyway?
