A combiner....that transforms? This is strange, even for a franchise about shape-shifting robotic aliens.
Heck yeah! This is AWESOME! The only question now is price. Is this going to be $30? $40? $50? If he's $30, he's an instant buy. At $40 or $50, might wait for a sale. But he looks innovative and fun. He would probably look great posed next to Earthrise Sky Lynx.
not nearly as interesting as I'd hoped. Cyberverse-style combining Dinobots would be AMAZING. hey 3ps- get to work on that instead of yet another goddamned 1984 Seeker mold...
Sky Lynx… erm, Volcanicus himself looks pretty good, but I dislike the whole “energon armor” gimmick because it hampers articulation. And what good is armor on your chest if the Rex head tips up so it only really covers under your chin when activated? Also not too keen on the dinobots that comprise the limbs look less like multiple robots joined together into a larger one than just bots that were absorbed into the leader as he enlarges.
Huh. This is the Cyberverse equivalent of what Hasbro did with TLK Dragonstorm’s Legion and Mega Turbo Changer toys.
My kid, who is in the target age range, was like no. Also, for a rather new poster, you seem rather oblivious that everyone can criticize outside of the appreciation posts.
...Which are also lines of kids toys. And past that, who are you to dictate who can say, "Eh, not my thing."?
The red circles, blue visor over a dragon head, and just general shapes of this thing give me weird diaclone reboot vibes. Neat. He looks cool, but would it be so hard to give him even like... basic articulation? like even just hips and seperate legs ? i know its aimed at a younger demographic but.. cmon kids like knees, right? Also, has there ever been a combined alt mode before? i know thats a bit of a stretch cause this really isnt a combiner, but even implied, i dont think we've ever seen a combiner who had an alt mode before. even if its a lil dumpy, thats a really cool first. (or... not, correct me if theres been another before this)
it happens a lot on this site toys and movies it’s mistransformed, there are hollow gaps on legs and arms., Have back pack movie why can’t bots be more like g1 unrealistic looking more cartoony see bumblebee ride wooden horse at theme park not able break under his weight that happens to show in cartoons, or show humans go to cybertron our in space have them not float away have humans not wear space suits breath out in space on Alien planet with no air and water
The two that jump to mind are the Action Master Elite Turbomaster, who is very clearly based on Bruticus (but his own character): And this weird toy of RotF Devastator, which I'm very hard-pressed to describe as anything other than Devastator just laying down: EDIT: There is one true combined vehicle mode! Safeguard from Animated, although he can't go from combined robot mode to combined vehicle mode without separating.
Someone else has mentioned one of the Action Master Elites, which was clearly patterned after Bruticus (but was given a different name). There was also a Titanium figure of "Menasor" who was, in fact, just a repaint of Titanium Rodimus Prime. EDIT: I'm reminded that there was also a repaint of Legends of Cybertron Optimus Prime named Menasor that looked more like it was attempting to be Motormaster, but which was specifically tagged as a "super warrior," and thus suggestive of being the (former) combiner character. Other than those, I'm not thinking of any, but obviously even THOSE cases aren't true combiners any more than this one is.
