Your wish is my command. How shall he be judged, my masters? “Innocent! Feed him to the Sharkticons!” Sometimes, you stumble across the perfect troop building pack. This is one of those times. Hot Rod: Not bad for a 1-step. Articulation-wise, he can only move at the elbows. Most of the time, he just stands there and looks cool. But he’s not the main attraction here, so that’s okay. I love his vehicle mode. I’m getting late Japanese G1 vibes from it with a little bit of Scamper (from G1 Metroplex) mixed in. The colors are sparse, but they really pop. Robot mode: Loving the additional yellow accents here. The blue buzzsaw is a nice touch as well (and looks better here than it does on the original mold, IMO). Sharkticons: Basically Tiny Turbo Changers, for those wondering about scale. My only complaint is that I wish one of the green Sharkticons was purple like the cartoon. Transformation is straightforward, but a little bit involved. You have to gradually rotate the upper body with the mouth and tail while fidgeting one of the shark legs around it at the same time. Don’t worry if the leg falls off- it’s meant to do that. (It’s on a sturdy ball joint.) Robot modes: These things are fun. They have a nice heft to them when I pick them up. I wish that each Sharkticon had different eye colors or forehead paint in robot mode to set them apart, but ultimately that’s my personal nitpick. All 3 robots are solid with no QC issues. Final verdict: Get these guys. You won’t be sorry. 3 tiny Sharkticons and a Hot Rod with great colors for $20? I would have been a fool to pass this up. Great set.
thank you i think I'm going to get them for my photocomic and have them be Gnaw's nephews they are so cute
I think I'd rather have the Sharkticons in an actual Tiny Turbo Changers assortment. Paying $20 for three $3 figures just doesn't sit right with me.
I was meaning I have no desire to have the one-step, which is why buying the sharks separately would be ideal.
Do their arms, jaws and legs move? And where did you find these? @Vector Oracle I really like these little guys. So does my daughter and boyfriend. Who have decided they each need a pack of their own. They are so little and cute. Greenie #2 could always be customized a bit? Purple or orange maybe? Neither of us are Roddy fans so one can go to charity and one to our little cousin. He looks like a Hot Wheels car actually.
Roddy is... a one step toy, and not particularly appealing to me, though I do find the one-step transformation of flipping the 'pants' around to initiate the action oddly interesting. The Sharkticons are adorable. definitely like Tiny Turbo Changers, though with a hair more paint detail, and the plastic seems a bit less on the rubbery side than them or BotBots IMO (though I have limited experience with TTCs, so I could be wrong here). Transform is basic as hell, but a little clever, though it can be a little fiddly to rotate the back piece around. Articulation is the robot arms/shark legs, the jaw, and that's it, but for a toy this size. I'm OK with it. Overall, I'd agree this set probably isn't worth it if you don't want the Hot Rod one-step, and trying to get some probably-on-the-way-sometday TTC sharkies would be a better deal. Still, I don't regret getting this set at all. It's too bad they didn't go with a pack of 8 to 10 sharkticons for the same price instead though.
The jaws and legs move in shark mode. The robot mode arms move (because they’re the shark mode legs, which rotate for transformation), but the shark arms don’t move at all. I found these at Target. Not sure if this box set is exclusive to that store yet.
