im surprised baf pieces haven\'t been used in other transformers lines before.
it really only works though with figures that either don\'t transform or on the weaponizer type figures.
However could you imagine Hasbro making more weaponizer/modulars as build a figures. I\'d personally be more likely to build whole waves. As I\'ve done this multiple times in the marvel legends line.

My only two qualms with Maccadam is that he'll be small compared to the main figures, and for some reason lacks ankle tilt as well. I could've forgiven the lack of ankle tilt if he could at least see eye to eye with the other characters, but his shortness just makes that one lost bit of articulation even more annoying to me.

You can clearly see it is removable on the pic of Grim in bot mode in the box. It's next to his fire as an accessory, so yay

It was done before with the Transmutate build-a-figure. I think that's the only other time, though.

I must be blind, because I don't see that. To the right of the flame is one of the T-rex arms on Grimlock's back, and below the flame is the BAF part. Don't see the crown anywhere.

Hope we'll get reviews on both Grimlock and Hot Rod soon.

Grimlock looks great. Hot Rod still has the wonky arms and lack of paint, but at least looks pose-able.

Yeah the lack of ankle tilt was pretty lazy. For me, the build-a-figure isn't really the draw to these guys. I just like having well articulated cyberverse figures. They're fun little figures.

I don’t even remember that though I was fairly young when those lines were released.

Good thing I waited and did not buy any prior Grimmies. This looks so much better.

Grimlock looks great... going to have to source a sword and gun for him though (thank the maker for standardized peg holes in Transformers). Hot Rod... the back of the box version looks so much better. Full orange legs and orange upper biceps (though the spoiler is still unpainted). Aside from the arm kibble (which is kind of sort of accurate because the spoilers do come out that far in the animation and control artwork), he looks like a well-designed figure that will be highly poseable. I'll probably get my wife to paint him up for me.

This looks great and I will totally get it, but I am still considering Ultimate class Grimlock. (marge voice) I just think he's neat (/marge voice)

Give it time. I could see them integrating BAF into the Generations line. "Collect the full set and build Weaponizer Autobot X!"

    Few things
    1. Sorry for the crappy picture quality. Was in a rush.
    2. Did not buy them - a whole $10 over Kmarts prices for W1.
    3. There were a lot of Bees and Primes and a couple of Shockwaves and Megatrons mixed in. I think that confirms who is repacked.

Edit - by which I mean Bee and Prime. They got both waves in at the same time.
    4. Earthrise expected soon by store manager. Possibly tail end of Siege also.

Sorry but isn't that the entire wave 1 assortment? So essentially wave 1 is being re-packed with the two new ones?

I think they got both waves at the same time. What there was more of was probably the repacks. Sorry, I could have made that clearer.
