I feel, even as a collector that has been with the franchise since the beginning, that the Cyberverse warrior toys are of the engineering complexity that I want. They're not bricks or supporters, but instead of taking the upwards of 5 minutes that some of your more complicated generations deluxe figures can take, these feel much more intuitive and can usually be transformed in a minute.

The older I get, the less complex I want.

Ratchet looks like a G1 toy without stickers.

No, I am not against imagination, but I highly doubt that they couldn't make him a more complex figure, even with 3 modes (what a complex feat!). G1 Triple Changers in their original versions were kids' toys too, as there was no TF collector culture. And they had 3 modes! Why for such a flaghip toy (given Iaconus's size and role in toon he can be considered a flagship toy) there is no rule-bending? I mean Fort Max wasn't designed the same way as other Headmasters. Besides his size, there was many other good touches: he had an elevator (!) in his bidy, he was a double HM. And this in a kid toyline! While here, we have a standard Ultimate with the same gimmicks and problems of other ones... Could have given a Commander-sized flagship toy!

Can't we have simple toys that look and feel like Generations toys?

G1 didn't have a separate line for the more simpler toys, they were all in the same line. Thats what I want to return - get rid of the separate kids line and have the kids line and nostalgic collectors line as one. Keep these simple one-step kids toys, but they would look like Generations toys. Imagine Siege Sideswipe but with the complexity of a G2 Gobot / RiD'01 Spychanger.

It's the return of the RiD Ratchet one-step design.

I like the fun, clean and simple look. And the Cyberverse designs are perfect fidget toys to play with while stuck on a conference call. One step Bludgeon is my favorite - I'm probably going to burn out his transformation cog.

I like 1 steps when they are interesting transformation. (Like AOE high octane bumblebee) I just don't like the huge entire car of kibble on ratchet's back

Eh. I mean Siege Meg's is a pretty goddamn sci-fi looking tank. H tank config, hover, very forward turret mount. Looks nothing like any tank from WWI and on. If anything it's TOO generically sci-fi.

The question is, will there be one-step perfect decepticons (mass-produced Tarns from Cyberverse) so Tarn can actually transform a lot of times for no reason (his 3p toys have a long transformation, while his official figure is a statue)?

Yeah. I mean just sell one-steps and warriors (but with 5-mm holes everywhere, like WFC) in WFC line, for a 2/3 of deluxe price. Ultras for 2/3 voyager price, Ultimates for 2/3 leader price. And let them have Generations aesthetic!

Boy, his lack of a city mode and not being really in any sort of scale make him such a terribly generic robot

An abstract alternate mode. What is that supposed to be?

I was really hoping it'd be a cool city mode and ship alt mode with Maccadams old oil house at the top.
