yes they did. They wanted him to be expressive in his face and if you want it to look more like the original 1984 guess what? He’s in another cartoon and has a toy that’s very faithful to his original look also on the shelf
Which is why Beast Wars, Animated, and the Bayverse are three of the most popular post G1 series. No go. "Wheelock" is also trademarked. Maaaaaybe "Autobot Wheellock," because "Wheellock" is also a generic thing which exists and therefore likely harder to trademark. "Grimwheel" rolls off the tongue better, as long as it isn't already trademarked elsewhere.
Its been proven time and time again that Transformers without mouths can still be expressive. There's nothing wrong with the original Wheeljack. If an artist can't make this design look expressive, they are a bad artist.
I'd put the tiny dino arms down in combine mode, though. The picture makes it look like a chestburster.
I think these look pretty cool as toys for really little kids, but even then I had G2 and Beast Wars figs around when I was 5 or 6, so I dunno. Also, I agree that Grimwheel would’ve been a better name for this fusion.
Actually, all of Wheeljack's expression in G1 came from his voice. And Cyberverse doesn't exactly have Wally Burr at the helm to get those kinds of performances from the actors...so a mouth was probably the better way to go.
Yeah and you can totally tell how wheejack is feeling in that photo right there right? This isn’t the first wheeljack with a mouth. Get over it. Go play with the WFC you and watch that show. Cyberverse wanted to give him a proper face like prime did and what animated sorta did. There’s nothing wrong with. Don’t like it? Too bad it exists
It is not a man with zero artistical skills and zero clout, armed with the power of Yelling At Clouds, that will decide who is and who is not a good artist. How dull to even try to have that stance because you're upset media moves on without you. Besides you just posted a character that was objectively less expressive than the new one in every single scene he ever had in that show, so good job proving the decision for moving eyebrows and mouth right??
I love both G1 Wheeljack and Cyberverse Wheeljack. They are different characters grown from the same creative DNA. There's room enough in the multiverse for all Wheeljacks to coexist. Except for Transformers Prime Wheeljack. Screw that guy. Heartbreaker.
That's a fun idea to get Wheeljack involved with the whole "combining with Dinobots" thing. It's also nice that he's the one to get Grimlock, you'd think that would be Optimus. Now, the idea is fun, but these toys are hideous lol. I won't slag them off too bad, cause I'm not the target audience, but those face sculpts are laughably ugly. And I kinda love that in this case. Grimlock's face reminds me of TM2 Optimus Primal, and I personally hate TM2 Primal's ugly monkey man face. Still might grab it though if I see it. Wheeljack is my favorite character, and like I said, I like this idea. Edit: Also, why the hell did they call it "Wheelgrim" when "Grimwheel" is a much better sounding name?
you'd think what with that whole 0/10 it was clear just joking... dare I say making fun of the user you think I'm trying to be.
Would you look at that. That's how a father and son bonding time was like back in my days. Yes, sons wearing their dads as pants was in fact considered normal at that time. Why'd you ask?
