One of my favorite Optimus versions of all time is now completely shiny! Takara put on this really nice metallic red on their figure but unfortunately they didn't went 100% with it, just covering whats visible in the alternate mode. Probably it was too expensive to paint all red plastic parts before assembly, which left Optimus Primes shoulders and upper arms unpainted and dull, and that always bothered me. Together with all the gray repainted in metallic and the pink details into glossy red he looks like he just recieved his matrix^^
Always loved the look of this figure, just felt he was too small for OP. Great paints, did you use an airbrush?
I actually use car varnish for all metallics. A huge advantage is that this stuff is scratch-resistant to a certain level
Mine too! When Hasbro anounced "War for Cybertron" as their new toyline I had high hopes for a possible remake or a new game
