This morning I did a store pickup order on the website. A couple hours later I got an email saying it wasn’t in stock. App still said they had three. So I tried again (same store, Niles) and this time I got the “ready for pickup” email.
Wow. This figure really is absolutely incredible. The kibble is much less egregious in person. He looks great in just about any pose, the transformation is fun, the vehicle mode is adorable and neat (I just wish it had wheels, but that's not really a negative). The accessories are very nice, especially if you also got the Worlds Collide pack to give the gun, and possibly jetpack, to that Bumblebee (or the Netflix Bee if you have him). The Energon rods are my favorite though. Sure it's lame that he can't hold them (I'm planning and seeing if Rodimus can hold one), but he can still bundle them under his arms. Their also just neat quirky little gimmicks.

picked up a couple in-store after placing an order earlier in the morning...at least two of the three Targets I went to had them first thing in the morning (the third added later in the day) a really fun little toy...operative word 'little' considering the price they were asking (28.49 but I got them to pricematch the online one)... gotta assume this is a test-bed of going to no plastic windows on whatever line follows Kingdom considering the boxes have become more and more enclosed... pretty intuitive transformation...no wheels, but I don't mind that so much... they included the energy rods, so they gotta have cyber Wheeljack in mind at some point, right??

Picked up mine. Not on shelf, but did "buy online pick up in store" because apparently they had 8 but didn't bother putting them out.... Anyways, I did an experiment, and I don't like the result.... Without cutting the tape I snipped all the ties, and had I watched more video reviews I would have known how the backpack is hinged... but regardless, it is crazy easy to remove him from "unopened " packaging. I'm certain we will see examples of stolen figures with still-taped packaging.
Gah, of course it's available for pickup for $23 at the store I bought it for $28.49!! Sorry, hopefully someone answered your question. I threw out the box.
I doubt it'll be widespread considering there's plenty of things on toy aisles that utilize open packaging

I'll be honest, I like them both too much to yank their heads off, but I had the same question in my mind.
You know what would have been nice for the 'Kingdom' episodes. Show Bumblebee transform, and made it this alt-mode... you know advertise the toy. Shocked at not seeing alt modes for so many characters on that show.
This has been a joke to get by me. The target app only lets you buy one. It cancels any subsequent order you place immediately. I go to the stores that show them in stock and they are not on the shelves. Had to place separate orders from 2 different accounts. Either the scalpers work at target, or they have an inside man.
