Plus with this design it's kind of impossible to make much of the robot out of that alt mode. And he still has less of a backpack than ER Arcee.
Looks like Warpath and Seaspray are in Earth modes, but Beachcomber and Powerglide aren’t? Eh, I dunno
Haha, glad they were able to reuse one patch of square surface. Sorry, for a design like this I'd much prefer the actual vehicle canopy to become the chest canopy, and for the limbs to be formed from parts of the vehicle as well. With how far engineering has come on so many amazing figures, there's no need for a vehicle like this to be a shellformer. My gosh, I hope that's not the bar going forward!
I think that's just the artist not being "creative" enough. Warpath isn't an Earth tank, as the uncovered treads aren't part of his design and the turret is a bit "sci-fi" looking. (in the silhouette in the first panel it's elevated on some kind of armature) Seaspray is also just a hovercraft with three wheels, but he's also drawn the smallest and farthest away. (and the profile is more of a car shape) Only Cosmso is identical to his actual alt mode. They're definitely supposed to all be Cybertronian in that page.

Remember when they made non super G1 bots that made for both amazing alt-modes and robot modes? Yeah.... too bad those days are long dead.... (again, Siege could have been so much more amazing if it wasn’t so dead set to being just g1 earth bots but with some greebly vehicles.)
It was called Cybertron and it was pretty fucking cool. There was also a good number of movie toys, Animated, chunk of Prime, etc.
First Edition Voyager Optimus Prime is immaculate to this day. First Edition Deluxe Starscream as well. That is all.
*Looks over at kingdom, rescue bots, bot bots, bayverse studio series, mpm line, cyberverse, next year's cartoon from Nickelodeon, the rumours and leaks about Unicron Trilogy, Prime and RID 2001 updates in the next trilogy* Yeah totally all just G1 and nothing more huh. While I do think the franchise could rely less on G1 this complaint kinda makes no sense either, also generations has alway had one foot firmly in G1 since 2006 but oh no they made a G1 Cybertronian bee in a line thats all about celebrating different versions of Bumblebee, oh the humanity.
