I've never managed to get through the Cybertron series. I've still got all of Galaxy Force on some discs somewhere and didn't get much further with that either. If I have to endure just one more episode on that damn racing planet... I'll get around to watching it all eventually. Loved the toys though. Funnily enough I just picked up the 'gold' version of Vector Prime (the one with the orange wings) at a car boot sale yesterday, and Primus at another car boot around a month ago. Quality.
I really liked it, since the first actual Transformer I remember buying (I had some very simple Go-Bots before this) was Leader class Cybertron Optimus Prime. Plus, it was the show that I grew up on, and was how I got into the Transformers Universe. Although Cybertron was how I learned most characters, so that's how I think of them today.
The toys were great, the show was okay. I don't think the shaded 3D models worked next to traditionally animated characters. It just never looked right and was really hard to get used to. The flat cel-shaded CG characters in Energon worked a lot better with traditional animation, imo.
I have to credit this series with getting me back into Transformers. If it wasn't for it I think I'd have been done ages ago. The figures were amazing though, and loved the key gimmick. I'd love to see them revist this continuity.
Cybertron was the shit man, great characters, great new worlds and added more content to the continuity (the 13, Velocitron, Gigantion, Animatron, Omega Lock) since BW and the toys are awesome for the most part. Cybertron did everything right.
Slinky cat prowl! Vector and Optimus. It's been a while, so I can't remember if this is Vector's ghost. ThunderBlast having a moment of clarity. Cement everywhere! Always thought Gigantian and Planet X looked cool. Starscream in a volcano. Jetfire there for scale. I feel it. I feel the cosmos. BurnOut: Point of Impact Don't do drugs. Dodge this!! OMG, freaky Soundwave isn't the only one with tentacles. I SAID DRINK IT!!! I took close to 1000 pics from Cybertron. It's a very colorful and fun show.
I haven't seen much of the show but the toyline was rock solid aside from a couple turds like Backstop, Overhaul and Soundwave. Still my favorite mainline.
I honestly did like Cybertron, While I did fine the way they made Prime loom a little goofy, It was a fun series.
