Ok my husband and I had an argument while watching DOTM as to what happens to Cybertron I said that it gets destroyed in the giant black hole it created. My husband then asked "Why can't they just bring it back from the past, didn't they just bring Cybertron back from the past?" I went "WHAT?" He made me replay the line where Sentinel is explaining the space bridge saying that it can transport things through space AND time. So my husband thinks that they transported Cybertron back from the past into Earth's orbit. I called him a ****** because if they brought Cybertron back from the past into Earth's orbit in the movie why the hell would they need Earth's resources. Wasn't the whole point of the movie to restore Cybertron??? My husband says well they could still need Earth's resources for more Energon and that it wasn't to restore Cybertron. my husbands next stupid comment is when Sentinel (or is it MEgatron) says "Cybertron you are saved" He then says "see Saved, not restored" I then called him an idiot again. He then tells me there is no proof it is to restore an already dead Cybertron and to put this on the boards to see what you all think. Still arguing with him, help on this one?
I actually thought about what your husband suggested when I came across that line during the last time I watched the film. If the Space Bridge can transport matter through space and time, why didn't the Transformers simply try to travel back in time or bring Cybertron from the past into the future?
I'm surprised no one brought up the time paradox this would have caused. If he brought back Cybertron from the past while it was still alive, that would be, presumably, anywhere from before to millions of years into the war. If that were the case and Cybertron were destroyed after BB tackles the pillar wouldn't that also mean that all Cybertronians cease to exist since they are already on the Cybertron from the past? Think back to the time vortex that Megatron created in Beast Wars.
That would cause a time paradox. Taking Cybertron from the past would interfere with the time line, causing the events of the movie to not happen, making Cybertron not come back. I'll contradict itself to no end.
Pretty much what I said. Maybe a time vortex might occur like in Beast Wars but the likeliest scenario is that current time stream would immediately cease to exist.
I dont even think cybertron fully gets destroyed honestly UNLESS it actually had a physical effect on the Earth, Which it didnt seem to have. I may be wrong but i know something about Gravity and mass. Cybertrons mass should've wrecked HAVOC, on the Earth yet it didnt. No disruptions whatsoever. Im thinking the feedback we saw of the device on Cyberton being destroyed may have been a local event. The sucking back through the hole.. the collapse could have all been an illusion of time dillation. OR Cybertron went Kaputsky.
The only reason Sentinel Prime said it defies the laws of physics is because the Space Bridge uses other dimensions to cheat. The gravity of Cybertron should have ripped our planet apart but didn't happen because the mass is somehow isn't there hence no mass-energy no gravity to speak of. Meaning its still hooked at whatever dimension it is passing through. Cybetron's mass is shunted in another space and time. Essentially... Mass Shifting
