More Resin Proto's are popping up on the web, this time it's Cybertron Shortround and Wreckloose! Yes these are old news figure wise, but still cool to see the resins.

It's the biggest release of information i have ever seen. So many prototypes so little heavey hitters like Optimus, Soundwave, Shockwave, Prowl wtc. Only impressed with Astrotrain so far.

You know, these prototypes actually made me a little nervous that Astrotrain isn't neo G1. Being they are similar resin style protos as Astrotrain. Someone could have said "NEO G1 SEASPRAY!" and I would have believed it. Is this a toy that we have already seen a painted Japanese version of?

Indeed. And it's archive goes as far back as BW. We've found new pics of Neocron, for goodness sake.

There now is no need for "leaked prototype" images. They're all going to be on a public patent website anyways. Such a sad, sad day for those who like surprises.

You do have to laugh at all the "OMG! Leaked pics!" controversies however, given any of Hastaks competitors have probably been using this site for years and knew about anything weeks before we did.

If people like surprises, then they only have to decline to look at the thread posting test shots. Not to sound snarky BTW just pointing out options.

I never understood the problem with protos in the first place. They gave fans something to look foward to besides a name.

So what's the patent website that everyone's getting these images from? There's no point in keeping it secret...

The resin protos really do show off the mold details well. Takara/Hasbro really does put a lot into the toys, even if some things end up sacrificed, such as paint details and the like.

This will be the end of eBay auctions for prototype *pictures*! And that makes me happy deep in the cockles of my heart.
