I was fortunate enough to find a purchase Cybertron Override at my local TRU this past Thursday. I don't want to do a lengthy review or anything here, I just wanted to post my thoughts on the toy.

In vehicle mode, Override looks great....definitely looks like it could kick some ass on a speedway. The Planet key integration os unobtrusive to the actual toy and works well.

In robot mode, the first thing I noticed was that the shoulders are very floppy by the nature of the transformation. The only other negative thing I can say about the robot mode is the feet don't provide proper support and the toy practically has to bend over in order to stand up. Also the gun pack is fairly tricky to get off the back of the toy.

I was suprised that the auto-transformation works very well.

I don't mind the colors at all, especially in vehicle mode. I was hoping the face would look a little more feminine since it is supposed to be female, but it does just look like a pretty boy, like the male character is depicted in Galaxy Force. If the face was undoubtedly female it would have been a great Elita-1 homage (not neccesarily the head, mainly the vehicle mode and the fact it's a leader-figure in the storyline.

Overall I'd give Override a B-...if the shoulders and feet had've been a little bit different it would have gotten an A since it really does gave excellent, workable articulation and a badass alt. mode.

I give her a C. She wont stay together in vehicle mode, the legs already have stress marks and take a lot of effort to move, the arms are stiff at the elbows and floppy on the shoulders...

She looks really good though, in both vehicle and bot more- which is why I give her a C.

I'll agree with a C only because I like the Alt. mode. As a robot won't stand up, which is why it will most likely remain in alt mode for display.

She looks like the child of Hot Rod and Arcee. Wonder if Springer would be pissed to see her.

Does anyone know if the GF version of Override(Nitro Convoy) has these problems(floppy shoulders etc)? I can't wait for the figure, but if there's already issues... I don't want another Slugslinger.

The shoulders are not that bad, really. If you pull the arms just slightly forward, the shoulders are in the (or damn close to the) perfect spot.

I'll just come out and say it: Override is the worst Cybertron figure so far. Major downfalls include a visible head in vehicle mode, a serious gender issue, the lamest planet key gimmick to date, and just plain not being able to stand up in robot mode.

Seriously, is anybody buying that this character is a girl? The face is way too masculine and the shoulders are way too broad. Aside from the feet Override is devoid of any feminine curves. Override is so masculine that he frequently has the following conversation with Hot Shot:

H.S.- Hey Override, you're lookin' very masculine today.

O.R.- Thanks. It must be my huge camshaft.

O.R.- Man, I'd like to bang Chromia.

H.S.- What a heterosexual thing for you to say.

Anyway, gender issues aside the worst problem by far is that the dang 'bot just won't stand up. It constantly tips backwards. Override is a little back heavy but that's not the real problem. The front of the toes won't flatten out forward enough so the angle from the heel to the toe is always a backward-facing slope. You have to either do a delicate balancing act putting the heel spur in the perfect middle positon or Override has to bend forward a hillarious amount to stay upright. Bad, bad, bad design.

In the end it's not a bad figure. Cybertron is so good that the worst of Cybertron is still just below average for most lines. And I really can't totally condem Override because the auto-transform mechanism works amazingly well and is quite fun. In the end the auto-transform is really the only reason to get Override. There are just too many figures out there right now that are much better.

I agree, it definitely looks like a guy. As for the complaints, my doesn't have any problem with the shoulders (yay for inconsistent mold problems) and getting 'im to stand up isn't so hard.

Actually I don't get the whole idea of robots with gender in the first place. Even if I were to accept it, the dimorphism of human males and females is a strictly biological phenomenon, and there is absolutely no reason why it should be reflected in robots.

Never saw any baby TFs. I sure don't think they nurse from those oil cans on Arcee and BA's torso!

But what about that movie "A.I."? There was a little boy robot there.

I just got overrun today, and I don't have any problems with him except that when you make the gun barrels flip forward, they point a bit inwards, instead of straight forward... he stands up perfectly straight up with no work involved at all.... its really lightweight so it feels a bit cheap, but it doesn't feel like I'll break it either.

I really like Override. The automatic transformation is so cool, like a homage to jumpstarters...sorta kinda. Both modes look awesome to me. My figure stands up just fine, and when she holds her gun forward it balances even better. The shoulders are kinda loose but no biggie. I just hope none of the many springs in her deteriorate over time.

Got mine Monday, and here's what I've noticed...

The auto-transformation works well. A little too well honestly.
The arms tend to want to unlock due to how it's made. There are little tabs on the shoulders on both arms and you have to make sure they're actually there. Mine on the left arm had the little tab, the right however did not. I added a drop of Super Glue to it, and it made enough of a notch to hold, now it's solid.
The legs/standing...well I think I know what the problem is (for sure on mine, not sure on others...) her thighs are misassembled. The Left thigh has a piece of the left AND right thigh, which leaves a notch, so the leg doesn't reach it's full movement span, which makes her want to topple over back wards. Not to mention, her heels are pure crap and need to go out about 1/4 inch more. Also, if you want to help her balance...put her weapon in her hand, she'll be counter balanced and stand right. Or pose her, when she's posed...stands very well.

    Hope this helps!

    A couple paint app questions....

I bought override this weekend and noticed 2 things, first, her face is painted orange rather than gold, and secondly, she is missing the small blue rectangle paint apps on the upper leg (when contrasted to Nitro Convoy).

Is this the norm for override or what? I only ask because the image posted on the first page of this topic clearly shows a gold face and the missing blue paint apps....I'm assuming that that was a picture of GF Nitro Convoy but I figured I'd bring this up to be sure.

GF Nitro Convoy has a Gold face, Cyb Override has an Orange face to make her more feminine.

The missing paint apps are the norm for Cyb Override.

The picture is of GF Nitro Convoy.

You guys have me seriously torn on whether or not to buy this figure -- it seems to be about a 50/50 split, good and bad. Can't decide, can't decide...

Just got the figure yesterday. Alt. mode is awesome, as is bot mode. However, there are some posability issues. For instance, Override can't really look side to side much. Also, sure her legs are articulated, but mine won't stand worth a crap. Some times are better than others, but for the most part she's on her back...that sounded so wrong.

All in all though, a cool figure. I'd recommend her.
