Unless I missed the memo, I've discovered a Cyb Galvy variant. I picked him up today (first one I've found), and his chest and shoulder details are neon yellow instead of the gold I was expecting. Has anyone else found a Cyb version Galvatron like this?



And no, I don't think anyone pulled a switcheroo using GF Galvatron. The tape and twisties looked pristine.

wonder how many people in the future get scammed into overpaying for Galvy when on Ebay he's said to be a loose GF limited toy and not a cybertron toy (this could end up being commonplace who knows yet)

  Brighter than what? It's the same color as all the other unpainted gray plastic.

I can't find any good pics of the gold Cyb Galvy, but here is BBTS's listing. Meanwhile, here is a picture of GF Galvy from TFW's galleries. I can't see a difference in the unpainted plastic that's not explained by lighting and/or picture quality. Anybody own both and want to take a picture?

If mine is a GF version, it was a miraculous goof at the factory. (Hasn't it been said that Takara TFs and Hasbro TFs are made and packaged at entirely different locations?) There is no way somebody pulled a switcheroo and got those twisties wound back up like that.

 

That is very close to, if not, the Galaxy Force version. Having both, that looks identical to the paint job on the "limited edition" version of Galvatron.

It is possible that the people at Hasbro decided to change the US bronze to a US yellow to match the cartoon ... so here's the possibilities:

1. this is a Galaxy Force over production item
2. this is the new paint app done by Hasbro to match the cartoon
3. someone switched it and returned it (not likely)

 

Very interesting...if this is a running change, I'm really glad I was able to snag the first, gold edition.

Meanwhile, does anybody who owns Cyb Galvy still have the box? If so, what are your date codes?

It's not a running change, it's just a switch-job from someone who decided they liked the gold better...

You can tell by the log on his chest. Hasbro's is darker than that.

That is strange. I've only seen Cyb. Galvy w/ gold. My GF Galvy has that kind of yellow.

 

If it's a change I better hurry up and get a gold one, that's Fugly

 

All the Galvatron's in the stores in my area are just like that one.
