My plan for the FoC Combaticons was to repaint them 100% to colors even more G1 than they were in the game, keeping the wear and purple lights that make the WFC/FOC style. Each character was painted to a closer G1 likeness, although a couple really didn't need much changed at all, if anything. These were the retail versions, so the colors were a sad sight right out of the box... I also did some modifications to some of these guys to improve his Bruticus form. I was determined to make a decent Bruticus without sacrificing transformation of anything. While definitely still not perfect, I'm hoping he is much improved. Blast Off has parts of the hips shaved down and the shoulder ball joints modified to make new positions for them possible. Vortex has a new hand added for combined mode, replacing the frail girly hand he had but with a minor sacrifice to robot mode, although the hand can be removed (as seen in the last Vortex bot mode shot). I also sculpted in the thin hollow underside of the bicep part Vortex forms so it is thicker. Onslaught has a modified cannon that looks better on his back and on Bruticus, since I hated his tiny hollow dual cannons before, and I trimmed the shoulder/chest flaps. I've been doing too much custom work for myself lately, so I got this set to work on for Ebay. I'm calling this Cybertron Bruticus since the colors aren't exactly FoC accurate. It was a lot of work! Hope yall like em!

The ONLY thing I think could be different is that the gun barrels for Vortex's blades should be painted something besides silver. That's honestly the only thing I could see that could improve this masterpiece. Outstanding!
Yay! Thank. I happened to find them all at Wal-mart here in Memphis. They only had one of each too. Guess I lucked out. Gah the retail colors were bleh. They were in my fodder box after a customer a while back let me keep the remains of a figure we used. The figure itself was a custom with those hands on it so I have no idea where they came from. The thumb was too long though so I trimmed it down a good bit. Damn man I actually meant to do that, and color the thicker left arm bicep i sculpted on him teal like G1. So many little details to keep in mind... I might go in and add that. Good call.

Fantastic work as always. I'm curious about the shoulder mods you did to Blast Off. How has his articulation improved?
This is AMAZING. If I wasn't so happy with my G2ticus I might actually try to bid on this bad boy. I especially love how you managed to give Onslaught his normal colors while still getting the silver chest in combined mode. Does the new Vortex hand fit in vehicle mode? BTW, did you know if you rotate vortex's blades in the combined gun form so the handles stick out to the side, there are pegs on them that clip into a slot on Brawl's gun so the whole thing is more solid? And if you rotate Brawl's arms back in foot mode, there's pegs on the wrists that clip onto the turret-foot to make his ankle more stable?
Thanks Ryoku. I cut new grooves into the ball cup so the shoulder parts on Blast Off can be positioned lower as seen in the Bruticus pics. No I didn't know that stuff. Thanks! I'll mess with those options. I just listed him on the bay.
nice man makes it that much more coherient a figure. The hands look awesome in combined mode...almost think i might pick up a second set
