I believe they're for a section of Hasbro's Cybertron website, which probably won't be updated until Cybertron is nearly over. I think the code is supposed to give you "secret" information about the Transformer, or one of the planets. I think the packaging even says what they're for (somewhere on the back).
I wish Hasbro would have third partied with Konami or Capcom or someone and made a Cybertron video game (like Armada) except the codes on the key would unlock new characters or weapons. That would've been a cooler move. Ok Im thinking too much, don't mind me.

LittleRobot of TFans noticed that the first letter stands for the size class ("s" for "Scout", "d" for "Deluxe" etc.).
About a year ago Konami did that with the Ninja Turtles. The Turtle figures came with codes to the 1st PS2/Xbox/GC game.
wow, those unlockables arent what i thought they would be. so many funny ones, such as scourge's life in japan and jetfires accent(lol!)and the energon-goodie-cake-whatever that thundercracker had
Optimus Prime's starts with a 1, not a lowercase L... saw that on a post somewhere. Sure enough, I tried a 1 instead of an l, and it worked. The l didn't.
I'll second that, the Leader class figures have a "1" instead of an "L" for the first digit of the keycode.
