    I wonder.

How many people here that are vocally upset of the lack of knees have figures that are displayed in positions where the knees are bent?

I'm a huge fan of articulation. I remember being enamored with the cyberjets for that very reason.

However....only a couple of the TFs I have on display are posed with bent knees, and even then just barely. Most have some leg kick out for posing purposes, but no one is really in a dynamic comic book pose or anything.

I mean....particularly Shockwave. I couldn't really imagine posing him in any bent knee positions for the shelf.

I would absolutely prefer him to have them (in fact I'm sure I'll customize him) but in reality I will likely never even really use them. I'm stoked to have a voyager G1esque SW.

From most people's responses, I think customization is the majority...so essentially, we're paying $18 for a customization kit, and I'm good with that. I think I might try to swap parts with my voyager TFP shockwave .

Agreed. While I would, of course, prefer that there were knees I also know what I'm getting with these toys. I look at them the same way I do legends size figures: Knees and elbows are appreciated when they have them but not a requirement for purchase. I like these battalion figures because they are an outlet for different designs. Say what you will about the quality and articulation of that huge battalion Optimus from a couple of years ago, but goddamn am I happy that wildly ridiculous design was made a reality in some way. :lol

I'm far from an engineer, but this post made a lot of sense. Not a big deal, I'm getting him anyway, but still. Prob would quell a lot of the fanrage here.

I didn't like any of the other options for Shockwave. The official MP Laswerwave took Quakewave over on the MP shelf. Plus, it's like a homage for me like how gigantic the G1 figure was to the rest of the figures in '85. Not ideal by any means, but I figured why not.

Same here, I know what I'm getting. Going on the shelf and Quakewave will be retired to the attic or something...

Yeah, Shockwave will look good just standing on the shelf with the other decepticons. Scale is good and details are pretty sharp IMO.

I hope Shockwave isn't hard to find. Walgreens doesn't carry a lot of these compared to Marvel legends, there is only 1-2 boxes of this size class max in a store if you are lucky.

I would normally complain about lack of knees, but for the scale and CHUG look, and the fact that a Shockwave on a shelf would likely be standing up straight, I can overlook it.

If a nicer CHUG Shockwave comes along in the future, he'll definitely be replaced, but for now he's more than good enough for a character that has been completely missing from my collection.

Indeed, aside from the Jetfire I bought when they first hit and a couple Optimus toys that sat around for a month or two I just never see these in Walgreens. It's kind of ironic how a line of budget toys that many collectors seem to find undesirable is some of the hardest to find.

Where are the Shockwave alt-mode pics? Are you just pretending he doesn't have one because it's not his G1 one? That would be pretty shitty if you were.

There it is. All is good.

I wish the arms were integrated instead of hanging off the back like something to be ashamed of. Otherwise, it's a nice ship mode. Something about it makes me want it to be really big and designed to carry a small squad, like a playset for a continuity where Shockwave is a semi-Titan. That's my problem, though.

...and they call ME a prick.

So without a doubt this is bought. Even if it winds up getting "replaced" by a full sized CHUG, I can regift it, so no issues here.

Huh; here I figured from the instructions that Shockwave's head was visible in altmode. Instead, it's a different piece.

    Neat.

Whatever. The entire line is already using mushroom pegs, they weren't going to switch it up just for one figure. Because it is in fact just a budget line.

Do you have a Classics/Henkei Megatron? I'd love to see this next to him.
