Nothing says you can't own both.

Personally, I have kids of my own and plenty of nephews. If I decide I need to "pay it forward" with Cyber battalion Shockwave, then so be it. Not going to stop me making this purchase.

Yea dude, the Cyber Battalion Sideswipe and Prowl? Yea I can see it. I get what your dealin' ;)  They do have a certain image/look that appears similar.

They still look good, and I still have the rest of the "Cyber Battalion" line, so I still goTS to get em! Since im familar with the line i know they don't have knees, unless its part of the (8-12 step) transformation. The hinges and ratchets BOTH, are super weak. And the quality plastic is very Playschool playset like. The way the flat plastic walls on those Megs sets, kinda thing.

    Oh my

That Shockwave is an INSTANT purchase. Yes...of course we want knees. I agree. But that's really the ONLY COMPLAINT I CAN CONCEIVE OF for this figure.

His design has always been simple and clean and in my opinion this gets close enough for me to call it a win. Only a few minor sculpting details and articulation would even improve it.

That said...I'm very curious about the chest piece. Is it clear plastic that has been painted? It looks a little odd like that may be the case.

I hope it is....I'll strip that paint right off.

$40 in upgrade kits in this shockwave will probably be pretty solid.  Still going to end up buying it as it is probably the best official \"classic\" shockwave we have gotten to this point.

Yeah there isn't really much of an excuse why there aren't ball joints when there are mushroom pegs there anyway, but as others have echoed, that's still a really easy & cheap fix. This guy is pure straight up custom fuel. So bought on sight.

BBTS, RK and one other site sold the first CB releases. They were marked up a good bit, but they did.

I'll be getting 2: 1 for me and 1 for my son. He loves the Transformers Devastation game and loves any toy representing characters from that game. He also prefers simple Transformers so he has stuff like Cyber Batallion Optimus Prime, RID Grimlock (G1 color), and RID Menasor. This Shockwave will fit right in.

While Shockwave definitely shows hollow parts from behind, from the front he looks like he fits right in with a CHUG collection. I wish Cyber Batallion Optimus Prime looked as good mixed in with a CHUG collection.

He came out really well. I just don't get why the chose swivel knees instead of pins like the elbows.

Probably for stability of the alt mode. That way the legs are more or less locked in a straight position.

If by "better" you mean a leader class that scales with "Prime Trilogy" leader class Megatron, seekers, Soundwave, Optimus, Rodimus, Blaster and absolutely nothing else in the toyline, then yeah it'll probably happen next year.

Hopefully we get an easily improved earth mode Soundwave in Cyber Battalion as well, because we're definitely not getting one in Voyager size in the next three years.

Those hollow legs make modding in balljoints there fairly easy.
