UPDATE: finally finished, optimized for 3d printing, and fixed tighness and compatibility with of course cyber batallion shockwave
undestand that some pieces MIGHT be still fit a bit loose because 3D printing is not 100% reliable, but it should work now without needing to do much, thanks to everyone who helped me with this project, same link same price

oh sorry, give me a moment to share the ones form my last tester
he installed a piece backwards though it doesn't affect poseability but it does make a gap for vehicle mode
i marked the image with a brightly colored circle and line to show what it
of course the test has some small stress marks on the lower connection but thats why it was a test, the new version now should fit without stressing the plastic, and should be tighter
so NOW it IS OFFICIALLY FINISHED

Which part was installed backwards? I need to know so if I do buy them, I don't have the same issue. Please, and thank you.

I'm interested in getting this, but what would you recommend I choose as the material for printing it?

I can't speak for the designer, but I've actually used the purple material before, like what's in the pictures above and it's perfectly fine for this type of use.

i would say any of the flexible materials work just fine, might need to use floor polish to make them shine and feel less grainy though
    also yeah purple is already....purple

well, see the lines i drew over the piece? in yellow, well, that piece is supposed to be isntalled the opposite way so it sits flush, that work both to make the robot mode not tower other voyager figures(specially megatron figures) and lets the legs sit also properly in vehicle mode without the gap the photo shows

the person seems happy with it as it is so its ok, but again the recomended optiosn is the one im describing

Oh, I see. So the thicker part, at the bottom of the gray, where you circled, is supposed to go in the purple shin part, correct? So, basically his is upside down, from what I gather.

yep more or less, everything else is properly installed so is just that, the only 2 things it does is make an small gap between the legs in vehicle mode(and the figure a couple of mms taller, btu sicne shockwoave isnt suppsoed to be talled than megatron it doesnt work in mot case but yeah it isnt such a big deal

And ordered. I'll let you know how it goes.

The one that's currently on Shapeways is the corrected set, yes?

Looks great! Can you send the link again for the corrected version?

What is the best colour to print in? Is the purple version of these joints match the purple of the figure correctly?

Do you have pictures of a Shockwave with the knees installed to show how dynamic the poses can be with the joints?

    Looks impressive!

purple colors seem to match on daylight only XD so the mismatched color will only be apparent at night

link is the same i just updated the files on the shapeways page

knees should go about 95°, but i dont have photos right now

Looks great...I'm waiting on a sale with Shapeways to print some items off...would likely get 3 sets!

Do you think they would look better in the Shapeways purple colour they use? Would Black look ok too?

Any added pics would be welcome! Do the knees work well now? Any weak points or things to avoid when installing or using?

    Cheers and thanks!

well, the pieces were fixed so there shouldnt be any problem with the fit, BUT understand this, as 3d printing isnt 100% reliable it might be a bit too loose, so always have that in mind and get pledge floor polish, nail polish or superglue handy just in case
havent seen how it looks in black, all people that have helped me have shown it either on white or purple, and purple seems to work just fine under most lights specially during the day, but it does look very different at night ...thats why i mentioned that
the only thing you have to remember when installing is, there is a raised section on the upper part and it shoudl always be isntalled UP not down(as one of the tester's did) it...makes the vehicle mode not align properly so it would have a gap in the middle, , you can see the second page of this tread where i show that and a render of how it should be isntalled, also the lower piece of the knee should sit FLUSH, that is just a matter of prefference but that way shockwave wouldnt tower over other voyager figures....since the character was never that tall, but again, that is just an option

Sounds interesting...I appreciate anyone attempting to design a project on Shapeways, especially for this figure. So for the pieces, you do not need to drill or glue anything...its a unsnap and snap together fix?

3D printing tolerances are not perfect as you mention, but still pretty good. Its def on my list...black or purple as the standard Shapeways purple colour looks decent. Cant wait to see TFXProtector's figure!

found Shockwave, today. Does anyone have pictures of the latest set, properly installed? Probably still going to order it but would like reassurance.
