Need some advice please; G1 CW Superion or G2 CW Superion, and why?

 

Well, it seems pretty simple to me: which color scheme do you like better?

Other than not having to track down the bots separately and getting for an overall cheaper price, it's pretty much just about the colors.

 

well, is your collection g1 based, or doesn't matter?

if its g1 based, get takara's superion, then get alpha bravo and powerglide (somehow) .....

if it doesn't matter, and you like bright colors, get g2 superion.

both are great

 

For me it's G1, mainly cuz it's the one I had as a kid. The G2 colors are cool, but I'm just a stickler for the original. And even tho I picked up a Slingshot, Alpha Bravo is a great figure. Probably my favorite use of that mold.

That being said, I'll probably look around Amazon at Christmas time to see if the G2 set can be had at a decent discount...

I say CW Superion-G2 FTW!

You can get it alot cheaper and possibly more readily available than either or both the CW and UW Superion-G1. The G2 also contains the proper team-members in one complete set. In G2-colors, of course.

If you must have it in G1 colors, tho, then...

You'll have to hunt down the individual parts for CW Superion-G1, especially the scalper-priced Slingshot to do the proper G1 rendition.

UW-Superion is complete, but still hella expensive, both as a direct japan-shops import (if there are still any) and as a local buy from US import-shops.

As such, Amazn recently offered CW Superion-G2 for around $65 a couple of weeks ago that I took advantage of. Maybe they'll offer it again when they get stocks.

 

I have the G2 set and it is excellent. The colors are not for everyone but the figures are excellent. Also as treatment said it's going to be cheaper than trying to track down all the g1 colored figures . The TakaraTomy set is great too but its gonna cost you at least 2 1/2 times what the Hasbro G2 set will set you back and the g2 set includes powerglide the TakTomy set does not.

In the end the call is yours. Chose wisely.

 

that's the one I have and I love it. I'm apprehensive to get the G2 one just because of potential GPS. I know they said they are using different plastic, but I still don't trust it.

 

And on the g2 set I can get the PE upgrades all in one package. My collection is more g1 based, but my wallet is saying get the g2. But I think I'd regret it later because the g1 has the look.

 

G2's cheaper but colors are more samey with Air Raid and Skydive, and Fireflight barely looks different. Not to mention potential GPS risk with Slingshot.

I'd shoot for regular cw or UW. UW might still be cheaper to get since people have been scalping wave 1 stuff for a while.

 

Not sure what you mean, but the PE upgrade is an unofficial add-on kit to be purchased separately around $40+ or so. It does not come with any Hasbro and/or Takara Superion.

 

Correct, but the g2 set comes with the feet, torso, and head all in one. The g1 version are the feet and hands in one purchase, torso and head in another.

The G2 version is more dynamic looking. I say go for it, since it comes with Slingshot. Plus, you get G2 Powerglide as a bonus.

 

It would be alot nicer if Hasbro repackages their CW-Superion G1 with the proper Slingshot as a gift-set. Along with the new fist and feet that came with their CW-Compy.

And price it around $100.

Not sure if Hasbro will do it, tho...

 

$100 vs $135 (well now $145) isn't 2 1/2 times the price.

 

Maybe he's using amazon's pricing with the free-shipping from two weeks ago for comparisons.

My G2 from amzon was $65 + tax + free shipping == $70.

UW-Superion is currently $145 at bbts. How much is the shipping-fee for it?

Haven't bought from bbts in a long while, but does bbts adds sales-tax now, btw?

 

 

Exactly what I am using an the price difference is only gonna get worse once the Taktomy set is sold out at retailers.

 

Like $9, I haven't been getting taxed.

amazon has him right now for $80 shipped, but that from someone who is only 50% positive reviews... $84 from someone else shipped. But still not 2 1/2 times the price.
