Just shoehorning Railracer / JRX's head didn't make it Raiden. Neither does it make it Sixtrain. And no, before you make a new thread, it doesn't make it Railracer.

So, if you like that head and enjoy this as your placeholder Raiden / Sixtrain / whatever, that's fine for you. But don't expect people to like it, it is just too simplistic and doesn't work.

Pretty much all of these "customs" would be better off just posted in the Combiner Wars Appreciation thread.

Here's a constructive piece of advice: if the goal is to make a train combiner, the CW helicopter bot mold is definitely the way to go for the limbs. Its got the general shape and proportions of a train along with little passenger "windows", and a customizer would only need to solve the tail and rotor sections (maybe the arms as well?) to get a decent looking train mode going imo. Hope that helps as a suggestion. Good luck! =)

Who said that it was a critique? You make a critique when somebody has put an effort into doing something and you find points that could be improved. Which is not the case: as I said, the OP just shoehorned a Railracer head on a Battle core Optimus, attached Wheelie to the chest and some random characters as limbs and was so bold as to make two different threads claiming that it's both Raiden and Sixtrain. And with a "nailed?" poll, no less. That is already a hint of his attitude. Do not expect a warm welcome with such an attitude. I just pointed out that you can't do that and expect people to like it, even though he might be happy with it for himself, which is absolutely fantastic.

You need to evaluate wether something is worthy of dedicating time to do a critique: by all accounts the OP doesn't seem to have the skill needed to take on such an ambitious project as turning the combiner wars members into trains. What ultraman zoffy said here, as well as some other advices in the other thread, is technically correct, but then again that is not a critique, that's just outright thelling him what to do in order to make a train-based custom.
So yeah, "Everything needs to be changed" is a hint that if he doesn't show more work from his part there is no real critique or advice to be expected.

I have to agree with Sanchimaru here. This isn't much of a custom to be discussed, especially when it's the third or fourth one posted with practically the same idea (A new head, that must mean it's a new combiner!). In all honesty, there are people here who practically destroy their figures to create masterpieces of customized glory, while the head that was put on here can be taken off and put right back onto the original figure if he doesn't get the responses he wants. Repaints? Sure. Shapeways heads and Reprolabels? Fine, even if the idea isn't yours. But this is just laziness. Zero effort put into the concept other than yanking the head off a figure.

If you really want to do a sixtrain, do what's already been said and repaint/ resculpt some helicopters. Hell, I could do this custom if I had a white Optimus and a Railracer head.

As an amateur customizer who has pulled off the occasional "lazy" shapeways head and reprolabels custom here on Radicons (hey I added some paint ;) ) my philosphy is that if the OP is happy with what he's done and it fulfills a need in his collection then that's all that matters. But one should always be prepared to hear some critiques as well as praise/encouragement once you put something up for review, or else how can you improve? Now perhaps he's a beginner or anything more complicated is beyond his capabilities but that's why constructive criticism is important - better than getting no responses at all!

The best route for even considering a Trainformer custom using the existing CW figures would be to use the bulkiest of the molds... so CW First Aid and Rook. That said, they'd need heavy retooling to look like a train proper, even if a bit on the short and stout side.

Considering not much has been done here outside slapping the Railracer head on it.. I'd argue if this ought to be on the Creative General Discusson forum... which while pretty quiet, is supposed to be the place for "What If" customs that are in nascent stages.

The prior discussions are also just a flame war between two or three folks... Kind of surprised a mod hasn't erased the posts and/or moved this thread.

Good for you! (^_')b As I said, it's not something that most people will appreciate, because we are used to impressive retooling and repaints here, but if you like what you did here, then that's all that matters.
Now here is some advice you can use:
    - English can be a difficult language, but take your time and explain a little bit what you are wanting to do. It's okay if you express yourself in simple sentences. That way people will understand you better.
    - Do not open multiple threads with one single work. Even if you think that one work can be many characters, just explain that in one thread.

See everybody? His goal wasn't to make an extensive retool of all the toys to make them look exactly like trains. He just put these together and is happy with it. Now stop giving critiques and advises to somebody who obviously wasn't asking for them, and who can't do anything with them.

Here is a link to the thread we are all suggesting for you.

People just talk about the toyline in here. So you know, you can do stuff like this and no one will be really annoyed with you

This is the best reply to this member and this work here.

With our Customs forum here, the main rule for posting work here is that whatever is shared generally has to remove the ability of reversal to the original state. This work here really isn't that, so we've closed the thread.
