Making Killbison a tank with only one gun instead of the original two didn't bother me in the slightest. But, with a junker PCC Bombshock, a little styrene, and too much free time, here we have a replacement. My goal was to not modify the base figure in any way, or impede any of its functions. In those regards, this was a success, but I'd like it to do more. Perhaps even serve as a base for the combined gun like the original. Putty abounds, but I am improving with each project. I'm holding off on paint until I've gone through every possible change I may want to make to this. Mounting a 5mm peg on the bottom for a more secure fit to the turret is tempting, while a 5mm peg on the top may improve combination possibilities. Let me know what you think I should do Thanks for looking
That looks really smart! I may have to have a go at this myself. Does the combiner hand fit into the turret? That would be very interesting. Or perhaps the turret opening out to become a shield for Leokaiser?
To integrate this part into combined mode I was thinking of incorporating it into the gun. Above: my normal configuration for the combined gun next to the add on Below: a mock up of how I'm planning to combine the two. There's a 5mm semi-circle in the tail of Ion Scythe that could hold a peg on the turret add-on, if I added one. I'm not big on shields for transformers that don't have melee weapons personally. Frankly, the gun mode I'm proposing feels dumb to me too. I'll likely just plunk the add-on on top of the tank turret and leave it there in all modes.
I love my Liokaiser because because he was $80 Canadian in the box with the Reprolabels applied plus a bonus set. Plus, I customized a Jallguar for him, I usually use fan modes when he's combined, and I painted his combined head teal like the original. It took a lot to make him worth it for me, and that's bearing in mind that I don't have any other versions of the molds to compare him to, and I still think some of the joints are janky. And I still want to track down a POTP Starscream to repaint into Leozack.
Paint! Completion! Huzzah! All Tamiya acrylics, as per usual. I've painted the combined head, chest, and thighs as well. I don't think that warrants it's own thread, so here it is. I plan for this part to strictly live on the turret. I made a 5mm peg for it, so it can fit in his hand, but I'd rather use the peg for secure fitment to the turret and use other guns from the set for his robot mode.
