so we got 3 of the four G2 Combiners, ad the lack of Defensor to finish the quartet is really bugging out my ocd.

one hopes that maybe hasbro will release him via Platinum edition like they did Liokaiser.

But the real question is, How Should Hasbro do G2 Defensor? Rook with Legends Groove? or Deluxe Groove and a different Legend/Micron?

 

Yes I'm really hoping Hasbro or Takara someday makes a CW G2 Defensor set to finish out the series even though it seems like the other G2 sets didn't sell all that well. Just in case I plan on getting another set of CW Protectobots to customize in case it never materializes. I'd be happy with just a G2 Deluxe Groove, no need for a bonus Legends/Micron figure.

That being said, I could also see a G2 Rook being funky fun.

Well the colour scheme is far better than g2 Superion and Bruticus so I'd like it to happen... but I'm not sure if it will. I get the feeling that the other g2 box sets were somewhat over-produced and sold less than expected, so I shan't hold me breath.

I really hope Hasbro puts it out there, or even Takara if Hasbro drops the ball. I have no hope of TFC or MakeToys bothering with G2 redecos of their Defensors, so Hasbro/Takara are my only hope left.

I would much prefer using Deluxe Groove, and like the Bad Boy from Powerglide idea as the Legends figure. Pathfinder from Cosmos would work for me along similar lines.

Actually, i Had an odd idea. Make Blades and Rook Part of a separate "Protectobot Swat Force" Team. And Make Prowl out of his Machine Wars appearance and use CW Mirage as his body. I think the Partner could be some random set of arms micron pack of three figures, to homage some of the rescue bots minicons.

This needs to happen. I do not care if it is a Groove Limb or a Rook limb to be honest but picked Groove in the vote. A Rook repaint would be neat.

We also need a Guard City and a Battle Gaia from CW or UW. I made customs of the last two but would like official versions.

 

I'd prefer Deluxe Groove but I'd be happy with Rook just to get G2 Defensor released.

For those saying to repaint powerglide as hot house, didn't the g2 superion set already do that?

 

i voted Groove to keep him consistent with G2 Superion and Menasor, even though i prefer Rook + Legends Groove on my regular combiner wars version.

 

I don't want CW to die just yet (or rather, UW. Come on Liokaiser!), but I personally don't care about G2 repaints, so I voted no.

 

if it happens, i'd like a deluxe groove with the legends figure from either the wreckgar bike or viper jet to make a theoretical repaint like g2 powerglide, or an actionmaster homage like shockwave....i'm just not sure who....

 

Deluxe Groove is more accurate to the combined character, but the huge motorcycle next to the other vehicles never stops bothering me.

 

If they used deluxe Groove, what do you think they'd deliberately screw up to avoid having even one G2 set come out right?

There isn't a G2 Alpha Bravo nor is there a G2 Offroad, so there's no precedent set for a G2 Rook.

Given the orange deco, I can imagine G2 deluxe Groove could pass for a junkion.

 

I want G2 Defensor, deluxe Groove and all. Would be a glorious way to end the line.
