The CW Has made a lot of pretty subpar, and outright bad shows. It was obvious when they took a light-hearted and enjoyable character like Green Arrow and turned him into a grimdark edgelord looking to be taken seriously.

But Batwoman may be their worst show to date. Kate Kane is a horrible character who I can't even classify as an anti-hero who constantly lets people die and escape while the show beats you over the head with out she's 'better than Batman" while she's repeatedly vain, selfish and hilariously incompetent. Alice is one of the worst villains in a Tv show I've ever witnessed, and by the end of the first season if there's anyone in the audience who feel bad for this wretched thing I seriously have to wonder about what their own headspace looks like. She's a psychopath who nonchalantly murders a bunch of people and almost every episode we're given this same sob story because they really want us to feel bad for this insane bitch.

In the second-to-last episode they literally copy-pasted information from Wikipedia for the stupid journal macguffin. These writers are borderline braindead.

I'd even go as far to say Batwoman as a character has almost exclusively been terrible and a pointless creation by some hack.

Cringe-inducing dialogue and soundtrack, flat characters who have no reason for existing, nonsensical plots and contrivances, there's basically nothing redeemable about this trash. It's just bad through and through. Smallville had issues but this show makes it look like a masterpiece.

The most fun I've had in relation to this show is watching the podcast EFAP taking the piss out of it.

Jacob Kane was probably the character I liked most, when he was allowed to actually be intelligent and competent, and I know because it's the CW allowing a male character to be anything but useless buffoons is really difficult for them.

I love how the media tried to paint batwoman as “iconic” even though people don’t buy her comics either, lol.

I mean, they claim Carol Danvers is 'iconic' even though her books always fail to move and they just end up relaunching them even though I think it's pretty evident that by and large people don't like her or want to buy her books.

You felt Green Arrow was a “light-hearted” character?

Well the old sixties-early eighties on was. then Mike Grell got a hold of him and made him very realistic and down to earth, also darker and willing to kill.

I’m not sure I would think the 80s version was lighthearted either, not to say that I dislike the character but I felt he was too much of a cynic to consider lighthearted

And I remember the black haired black canary era very well, But thanks for the trip down memory lane

He was the more liberal of the JLA and always had the common man's point of view to their big picture.
JLU is closer to how he was in the 70's and 80's.

When Grell wrote him the trick arrows went away and he mainly used the sharp pointy ones.

Black canary always had black hair, she wore a wig.

It was part of her disguise

This went on all the way to Birds of Prey, then she started dyeing it.

I'm pretty forgiving and fond of "Arrow", but I always thought leaving out Ollie's big liberal side was always a jarring aspect to me. Especially when he ran for and became mayor in the middle of the series.

Yeah I always thought they did really well with him in that series but I still would not have use the word “lighthearted” to describe him
Yes she did when she was in costume hence why I said the “black haired black canary era” as she was “wigless” and sporting black hair even when adventuring

I want to see a Crispin Glover like actor play Scarecrow in season 2. The vibe I got from Glover in American Gods made me think he'd make for a great Jonathan Crane...but I don't know if he's affordable.

    There's always look-a-like actors tho.

I guess you are late to the party.. yeah this show is a giant trainwreck, has been since day 1. I only care about the EFAP streams ("Whaccha bring me?") to make fun of them.
And Alice is indeed the worst. So just because an insane serial killer kept her prisoner and made his father and family think she died, it is OK when she murders innocent people every episode and takes off people's faces? Instead of maybe trying to kill the guy who kept her prisoner... y'd think that'd be a bigger priority on her revenge list, but nope, she never even gets to kill him.

Yes, this was a random word generator made script of Batwoman, as read by the EFAP crew... the funny thing is, you can easily see this happening on the show, given how many times Kate has done idiotic things for Alice, killing herself does not seem so far fetched. :D

I also cannot bat-lieve that "I batlieve" is actually something that is in a newspaper on the show...

That, and his even bigger BEARD! Seriously, he is one of the few superheroes who is prominently bearded. Oliver in the show only managed to have stubble.
But didn't he run for mayor in one season? I dropped out after Damon "Giant Ham" Darkh season, though.

Before her movie came out I had to check on her on the wiki, and I was flabberghasted to see she was totally rebooted like, 4-5 times? I think almost as bad as Supergirl. I dunno why they cannot just use the Superman TAS version's origings in the comic, that was to me, simple and not hard to explain.

    Looks like the same suit.

So how are they going to write Kathy out of the series? Didn't the first season end in mid-story due to Covid?

It’s essentially batwoman with a different skin color.

After seeing the images and the way they made the changes my best guess
    [IMG]

It looks like they made her cram in the last actress's costume (or her stunt Double) and it's too small for her.

The way the mask looks right now it looks like she has a better jaw line than Pattinson
    [IMG]
And the actress is actually pretty good looking, but they didn't mold the mask to her face and make it for her proportions, so it just looks bad.

I had to Google the actress and yeah, she is pretty damn attractive. The top pic of her in the cowl looks so BAD, so pudgy.

She looks like a man in the suit; which is bizarre because she looks naturally feminine without it. Did they even bother molding a new suit for her?
