    I must ask, since in the future I wanna try it myself: how exactly do the washes work? Is it something you just paint over the figure?

    yes. you can dry brush for a wash or water it down a lot. there are different ways to do it depending on the "canvas" u are working with or how much wash u want to give it and the thickness of the paint you are starting with.

    This looks good, but is there any chance of pics on a lighter background? It's hard seeing the work done against such a dark background.

    Yes, I use the Citadel washes in this video. Be sure to clean your figure before hand so that it will stick.
