Unicron: "...Behold.......GALVATRON!!!!" Hello Autocons!!! It's been a while since the last time I posted some custom figs; this will be my first time posting few on this section. I bought this TR Galvatron just few weeks ago and thought it could use some cool mods. First I did some minor paint jobs. I re-painted the torso, head gear, and arms with metallic gloss purple. Then I repainted the legs and the waist section (belt buckle) with gloss dark gray. I also did some minor weathering on the hands and tank treads. Next, I did some modification on Nucleon's legs. I was able to split them apart using a hobby knife just to give them independent leg articulation. Then I installed two LED lights in the particle beam cannon, one is a steady light, the other is a blinker. These are powered by three LR44 batteries and are controlled by a FETT chip. Also, I installed a concave mirror behind the steady LED light and a lens in front of the barrel to amplify the light source. You can check out the video link below on how the lights function independently (simple lighting effects, nothing to fancy). Also check out some pics below the video. Feel free to give comments/suggestions. "All Hail Galvatron!!""
Awesome. I was gonna do something similar with the cannon but I don't have free time as much as I'd like. Very cool!
Thanks dude!!! It does look good with the lights. Cannon mod was not too hard, took me two nights to build.
Thanks man!! It was not that hard. But yeah, I just got lucky with the spare time. I was gonna actually cell-shade this guy, but that would have been two week nights of work. If I did not have time to spare, this is just gonna sit in it's original box unopened.
How easy was it to cut the legs of the headmaster? Just a cut and sanding job? Would it work with any Headmaster?
Quite easy. Only cut using a box cutter or hobby knife. Then sand the inner side of the legs. Knee pin must be pulled first. Then use a plier to cut it in half. You can use this method for any headmasters i think.
Ahh, pin removal.. That thar is fah dem educatered types. Tis' behand thar likes of me... pardons for takin' yar taim, good sar..
