    He's full of smaller guns!!

My custom target master/mini-con Drop Shot. A lot of his design was experimental, I didn't even know if the tiny parts would work correctly. They do, and they don't. While he went together and works as planned, he's very frail and wont hold up to a lot of transformation. It's a nice piece to put in my portfolio, but it simply wont do as a standard release on my Shapeways store. I am working on a replacement model that should serve as a good alternative.

I took about 8 hours to get all his parts sanded and fitted, I fear a lower quality print than mine wont assemble at all. And Shapeways is not known for consistency in their print quality.

Larger images can be found on my flickr.

For transformation the entire back 180's over the chest to hide his head in the center of his body.

too bad it didn't come out as stable as you'd hoped. I like the design though and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you have in the future based on the lessons you learned here :D

dang i was really looking forward to this.

maybe making a simpler version of this, but instead of the two missile hands, give him normal arms with a barrel front for the gun.

This is so, so sexy, man. I see your point about the flimsyness, but I think some of it can be alleviated by simplifying some of the assemblies, albeit you will sacrifice posability. This is a great portfolio piece, congratulations!

    Thanks man.

Drop shot loves bullets, and he loves sharing them even more!

I like to experiment and see what I can get away with, Drop Shot is a good indicator of what not to do. Maybe someday if Shapeways starts using some high end EnvisionTEC printers Drop Shot will become available.

    Already on it!

    Thanks man!

He also eats a big bowl of guns for breakfast!

Thanks man, unfortunately all his joints are needed for his transformation. I'm working on some new assemblies that might be a good work around for WSF's lack of precision.

Thanks, I am glad it worked as well as it did.

oh! ive seen your work before on shape ways, you have that lovely omega cannon. which still isnt for sale but i see that ion cannon is ... if only i had $55 to spare ...

though the pea shooter is something thats on my list of things to buy when i DO have the extra cash.
