Basically what everyone's doing: Destroying a Dropkick, painting it black etc. I've deliberately left my Kickback's truck mode totally black because i wanted a more stealthy feel about it. This is my earliest deluxe sized custom, so a few, ah, bad paint lines and scratches, but you get the idea. As always, C & C's welcome.
looks good!! if i may suggest something, have you thought about using the original kickbacks yellow clear chest piece behind the winshield halves when in bot mode?(a little time with a dremel and it fits right in there )also, have you thought about maybe painting just the front grill too?i kinda like how yours is all staight black wit silver rims!!!
Love the all black truck mode. Bot mode is cool too....only thing I'd suggest is add some detail to the arms/hands to break them up a bit from the purple....maybe add a little black in there somewhere? None-the-less....he still awesome looking
Thanks for the comments! I may redo Kickback's front grille and his arms sometime, still thinking bout whether i can change the chest, but will keep that in mind. Thanks!
Lookin' good! I think a little blackwash over the forearms/hands would help tone down the purple, and give it a more "real" look! I like it a lot!
About the arms: I have actually decided to keep the purple (at least for now) on the forearms, but the guns i've repainted silver. Don't ask me why all the insecticon accessories/weapons are silver, it just sorta turned out that way... I've also repainted the front grille, and filled in the lights. Hopefully i can get pic this afternoon.
Looks good, I started on one of these shortly after the figures hit the shelves, chopped the Grabber claw up and took off the wing, cut it in half and mounted to the truck bed frame, never finished the yellow on the chest, did the same paint apps you did. Does work as a great Kickback, I had also started a Payload as Bombshell, and Stealth BB as Shrapnel but never finished them, parts are in a box somewhere...
Kickback's new head Self explanatory, really. I basically ripped off the old head, destroyed the ball joint, and attached the head from a Robot Heroes Kickback. However, due to the new head being a bit to tall (I would have to cut the whole antennae right off for it to fit), I've attached the head via neodymium magnets. This way, the head is removable for truck mode, but it will still fit in the cavity, just need to put it sideways.
