    Yo, what´s up everyone?

First off I wanna thank KingBotz for talking me into signing up and actually posting this.
He liked what I did and said that I was onto something...so...here goes:

Got my Devastator in November of last year and right of the bat I thought that the sculpt had SO much potential, so...fiinished you see on the right:

I had good fun doing this and I may continue with others.
Please the excuse the grainy pics in between, those were handy pics.
Better pictures will come down the line.

So how did he come to being this beast?

pixlr_20161121225917930.jpg I started by first painting his front shield and worked my way all across:

    20160105_013545.jpg

With the treads, lights construction tape and other bits of Bonecrusher afterwards:

    IMG_20160823_212732.jpg

Comparison before I attached the DNA kit:

    pixlr_20160117100350031.jpg

From there I worked on Long Haul and Hook:

    20160113_214629.jpg 1452544649934.jpg

Too close Long Haul, at a later point and simply because I love the more realistic look of Gravity Builder, I built a ladder and added that:

    IMG_20160809_203403_2.jpg
With Hook looking like this, after I was done:

    pixlr_20160213012444104.jpg

After that I was finally able to tackle Scavenger:

    IMG_20160819_092202.jpg

After that, I started on the left waist and thigh area, which I wanted silver and where I also wanted to add a "knee" in the style of the X2 kit, so started with the first knee part:

    1459112318786_2.jpg

and afterwards painted the first thigh silver with black and anthracite details:

    pixlr_20160414214843612.jpg

Next step after that was Devastator´s chest shield, which I found way too narrow, so I started working on adapters:

    1474314294769_2.jpg

...but as you can see, his hollow chest was shining through...so...onto the bench again:

    pixlr_20160920081305217_2.jpg

...painted that up and inserted it:

    pixlr_20160922211142972.jpg
    pixlr (1).jpg

...and figured that I randomly gave him the possibility of having either an IDW All Hail Megatron, or G1 configuration:

    IMG_20161001_002911.jpg

Having that done, I saw 2 smaller sites: The holes in Long Haul´s loading area and his hollow sides, now sitting visible at Devastator´s side. The loading area was easy. 2 pieces of styrene, reworked to accomodate the thigh fillers from the DNA set and the small hands I simply filled:

Afterwards I started working on Mixmaster and other bits on the thighs:

    pixlr_20161121063858776.jpg

Finally came with the last leg as a whole (please excuse the blurriness, took the right one afterwards):

While the paint work looks nice in execution it looks too busy and over done.

Wow! You transformed the green blob into an awesome badass! The black / silver theme is just beautiful.
May I request for Mixmaster's truck mode pic?

Great job I like everything except for my tastes I would have kept the scoop the green color and added details and kept the treads on them purple and green instead of the black. But I love what you did, it must have taken a lot of time an effort

Thx, everyone. Hoped to get some cool opinions and
    appreciate the honesty too.
You guys here were the first to give "negative" ones, but I love him.
Worked a year on this, can't really pin point the amount of hours, but it's roughly a year.

Very well done, but have to agree that it's just a bit too busy for me as well. But you should be very proud of your year long journey of making him the way you wanted him to be. :thumb

Very impressive. Your "in the style of X2" kneepads had me completely fooled. I have the X2 set and I thought I was looking at the kneepads from the actual set. All of your custom parts are incredibly well made and, if I didn't already know what the figure looks like without them, I wouldn't be able to say "Oh, he added that and that" because they just fit so well.
I'll admit a lot of the coloring isn't to my taste. I'm kind of a G1 purist so, while I don't mind extra greeblies and details, the sections that are completely different colors, like the treads and shovels, I don't care for as much, though I have to admit they're extremely well done. The one part I don't like is the forearms. Maybe it's just the photos but it looks like they're pure black with a bunch of silver highlights. Too much contrast imo. I think some gunmetal or dark silverish bits might help to bring it together a little. Again, that's just me.

That's exactly what I tried, so you being fooled for the knee parts is the BIGGEST compliment. Cause that means I nailed it. ;)

Funny that you're saying that. I actually had the parts anthracite at first, but if you look closely you'll see that the forearms are extended. There's a seam. The upper part, towards the elbow, has silver details. I matched those, not more. ;)

But thank you for your extended and in detail post.
I dearly appreciate your words, man. :)  :)
