A while back, I managed to buy a Classics Optimus Prime from this very site. And the previous owner did a decent job at providing some paint to make it look more Henkei-ish. Well, time and use ended up degrading some of the paint (Not the knees or silver paint on the boots however! Those have been clear coated as of this morning and look as nice as ever!) and so I decided to give it my own touching up.

So here be my G1 Toon/Henkei blended Optimus Prime, complete with guns!

    A nice side profile here~

From this view, you can probably see that I like light blues!

The "You Are In BIG Trouble, Young Sparkling!" pose.

Could have glued a bit of black plastic to give him a proper pointing finger, but aaaahh. Let your imaginations fill in the gap! ^^

Great work! The simplified color scheme works really well for this figure.

That's pretty cool. Do you have a Megs you can stand him up against?

*blush of fan-shame* I only own one Megatron....the Beast Wars version. XP I have yet to find a Megatron that speaks to me in local stores. The CW Leader looked amazing buuuuut I am low on shelf space since I finally got a Defensor (Prowl in lieu of Groove/Blades) and mmmmm, he looks so purty~ ^^

I also know the struggles of only having one Megatron. The Legends scale Thrilling 30. But a G1 Optimus going toe-to-toe against a Beast Wars Megs is an interesting idea...

If I recall right, their last meeting did not go so well for the great leader of the Autobots. LOL

Nah, no kitbash here. ^^ Just a slighty paint-worn Classics Optimus Prime being given a makeover by me! ^^ I am glad you think it is worthy of praises! :D

Excellent work! May I ask what you use to clear coat with? It has a very glossy store-bought look to it!

For this, I used MINWAX Polycrylic Clear Semi-Gloss. It was the only one I could find at my local Walmart that was clear enough until today! Finally found where they had been hiding the Pledge Clear Polish (Future Polish, originally) and will be giving it a test on another figure sometime later this evening. But the MINWAX does pretty good with acrylic paints! (Apple Bloom user, here) Found it in the paints section of Walmart where they keep all of those color tiles so you can buy custom buckets of paint near the hardware sections, usually.

Thanks again for the awesome comment! ^^
