For the past week I've been working on a custom of the Cyberverse Deluxe Bumblebee and making him stand in with the rest of the recent CHUG figures from the last few years. This took a bit more effort than you'd think. 1) Rip off the Cyberverse Bee head (I had to pry it off with a screwdriver and the head off the World's Collide Bumblebee 2) put tape on the ball joint since the WC Bee's ball socket is too big and plop that sucker on 3) Get Tamiya Flat Black, Chrome Silver and some panel liner 4) Paint away and then let it dry for a day 5) Mask the areas around the painted parts and spray the sealer 6) 24 hours later you have something like this!
Looks great! I've noticed this mold would work really well for a cheap, but what you've done here is good.
Surprised how well that actually works. The aesthetics are complimentary and it looks like the yellows match almost perfectly
This is pretty cool, only thing missing is to give him five-finger fists instead of the usual four the mold has.
Tbh this figure is a lovely mold, and I've had a custom of another character on the go for more than a year, just never finished painting the bloody thing
ADDENDUM TIME: MrSoundmeister gave me the recommendation of giving Bumblebee actual chug like hands and guess what? I might've given him articulated hands instead. The downside is even though they fit in vehicle mode he cannot use his stingers anymore, sucks but sacrifices had to be made. I also removed the black from the side of his arms
