Hope I'm posting this under the right section. I wasn't sure if its heavy/scratch or Non-TF

I followed a number of D&D Youtubers before coming over to the TDF and finding the Radicon Tutorials. BMC came out with this video last week and I'm thinking of reworking it to part of a Cybertron diorama/backdrop.

Should be easy to change those fixed doors into working ones with a little effort. I'll need to order some more foam core as I've only got some and the paints I used on some Domain Base kits I got this year. Maybe some rollers from green stuff to cut down on that customization time. Advice from others who have done this all ready would be most welcome.

For any one who wonders the colors I got for those base kits are Vallejo Mecha Blue and Yello Ochre. With a black primer and little metal medium which you can see here with Brawn who I need to order Autobot faction stickers for.

I follow BMC, and also table top witchcraft, and wyloch's armory. The sewer series is the one I really want to try...only make it more cybertronian and like an energon waste blue sludge instead. Maybe some of those refinery tanks once I can order the piping toys from amazon.

Love Wylock's stuff, I just wish I had the storage space to replicate everything he's done. You are thinking of his recent build "How to Craft a Void Shield Generator for Warhammer 40k" with some of his goo effect from the "Cheap and Easy Promethium Pipes Terrain for Warhammer 40k, Kill Team". Both would look great for a Cybertron backdrop. I'm actually thinking of doing some Void Shield Generator's and Buildings from Electrical Gang Boxes.
One other mini channel I follow is Mid Winter Minies and they did a 6 easy, cheap DIY Terrain ideas. Also MWM's Death by Dice music album is bloody entertaining if you like that sound.

Good question, That would be where the Green stuff Textured Rolling Pins come into play.
BMC did a video (that you can watch here) where he tested them on XPS Insulation Foam. I'm thinking of just using that for a ground material. The Double Diamond, Factory Ground, Mesh, Hex, and Triple Hex pattern rollers look promising. Some of their other pins also look good for wall's and vid screens. But I don't know how the craft foam will hold the pattern. I'll likely test them when I get some at a later date.

Yeah the void generator is a good one too. But I was talking about the goop one from tabletop witchcraft sewer series...an energon waste system would be awesome.

I think doing that with some circuit board paneling look instead of stones would be a perfect backdrop for Cybertron. Yeah I don't have any room to do that kind of stuff either. Or the lot of other projects I want to do of custom painting figures. Leatherworking crafts. Knife making. Woodworking. I need a giant shop warehouse like punished props academy, I like to make stuff, and Adam Savage all have. LOL

Day three. After some quick checking on Amazon I've ordered a 20 Pack of Crafts Foam Sheets in 6mm Thick/Black, 9 X 12 Inch. Amazon says it will be here as early as Friday April 24. I also ordered those Vallejo colors and will link all three at the end of this post.
Next to report the RESEARCH portion. I grabbed two foam core sheets I had in 12"x 18" and 9" x 12" scale and several figures to do a test shot.

Since Cybertron is an old, old world with not that much new construction going on I can use old world structures on earth as a comparison. Funny fact people use to be shorter because of malnutrition. So my thinking is that most old structures would be made for Deluxe/Voyager figures so the wall will have a door set at 7 1/2" and a little wider then that. CW Megs on the end would need to stoop down to get threw these doors or come in in vehicle form then change to his bot mode.
For the scale I'm thinking this. I'll using 3 sheets of 2mm foam I'll shape the door, 2 Sheets of 6mm for the wall, A 2mm spacer to give the door room to slide and 2 2mm on the wall for a door frame as well as any displays/panels/decor. The entire wall will bee 20mm to 24mm thick so it should have no issues standing with a little bracing.

    A very loose representation

Oh also Valguerra, I learned that you can use those rollers on this type of craft foam. You do need to peel the paper off first and press in firmly. Wylock showed you could do this in his most recent Video,
Building the Tomb of Horrors for Dungeons & Dragons - Part 2.
