Back again with another transformers authentics custom and this time I'm presenting my WIP authentics Dreadwind! The base figure for this custom was authentics alpha class starscream, and all I did was modify the everything shit outta it using styrene, legos, and lots of testors contour putty to get these current results 1000003330.jpg 1000003329.jpg 1000003326.jpg
The head still needs some cleanup, but it's got the look I'm wanting, and I decided to pay homage to the potp figure by engineering the wings to sit on the sides of the legs. Still not 100% done as it still needs paint and some other general cleanups done.
Will post more pictures as more progress is made, but otherwise hope you all enjoy and any feedback is welcome!

Hopefully, if I can get ahold of another alpha starscream, or a cyber battalion jetfire.

Curious. Cyber Battalion Jetfire seems to work in a way. Though, i recall Dreadwind was redecoed from a jetfire once.

Yep! I believe it was with the Bug Bite Botcon figure during the early 2000s.

Also neat build so far, cannot wait to see end results!

Thanks! And yeah, the reason I want to use cyber battalion jetfire is because of the f-14 esque alt mode, which can be easily modified to look g1 accurate.

That's understandable. Also, what's the plastic qaulity on Alpha Starscream and Cyber Jetfire?

Don't know on jetfire, but alpha starscreams plastic isn't too bad, I mean it'll feel cheap, but it's otherwise good for what it is

Ah I see. I was gonna get Starscream but that's what terrifies me, the feel of cheap plastic. Glad to see it's not holding you and other customisers back though!

Indeed! And if you need a cheap chug starscream, I 100% would recommend you get it, as it's pretty versatile figure for 10 bucks

Sounds like a good price, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks! And good luck with the Dreadwing duo!

I happen to have Cyber Jetfire, and similar to what was said about Starscream, it's cheap plastic but good for what it is. Unlike Starscream though, it's typically overpriced for what it is, hence why the only reason I have him is I found him for a better price at a local transformer convention. TLDR: It's cheap but good, just don't overpay.

Nice, reminds me of the Dreadwind I made from an Iron Man crossover jet transformer

Yeah, i recall finding some at Walgreens at clearance. once they reacted the 5 dollar threshold, i had to pick a few up.

Which makes me wonder. How to apply the dreadwing combined jet mode with these two molds.
