It makes me so happy to see the positive feedback for this title.
It's the kinda 40K game that should have existed well before now!

I'm happy to finally get a crack at a good 3rd person 40K game and can only hope that more races get introduced in the future.

Ultramarines are awesome, but wouldn't mind seeing more races from 40K using the same game engine and game play.

    Finished the demo last night.

    I am dissappointed.

Dissapointed that my aging laptop cannot handle this kind of pure, unadulterated AWESOME.

I was going to wait till Skyrim before getting a new rig, but the situation demands that I need it NAO.

Can you wear a helmet in single player?

I know you do or will in the multiplayer, but I doubt you will in the single player campaign without it being a mod or DLC add-on.

Then again, Titus is an Ultramarine Captain, he's too bad ass like a honey badger to wear a helmet anyways. lol

    But the helmets are badass.

Well that's lame. Customizable armor should be in single player too.

They probably figure it would take away from the "identity" of Titus or something like that. Don't wanna make him just another guy in a suit, he's gotta have a personality etc etc.

    P.S. Ultramarines are lame :p

Badasses in 40K don't wear helmets, everyone knows that. Something to do with the quality of the sniping... ;)

Wow, I didn't even notice there was a thread about this game. Pleasant Surprise.
I don't get much into the history of Warhammer 40K, nor have any knowledge of the tabletop game, but this game interested me. I tried the demo, and I absolutely love it! I love the way you can switch very quickly from shooting to slashing guys up, something I haven't seen done well in quite a while. The executions are a nice touch, and are very satisfying. I hope there are more guns in the game (the controls screen mentions a lascannon, so there's at least one more), as well as melee weapons. I also enjoyed the jump pack a little more than I probably should've :) . If this game had a point where you get in a Terminator Armor (which probably won't happen), this game would include everything I would want in a game.
Sadly, I'm trying to spend less money on games, and won't be picking this up right away (already got my fall game, RAGE, pre-ordered), but I'll definitely get it sometime in the near future.

Slightly OT but if one wanted to read some 40K, what are the top recommendations? Seen a lot of praise for Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts.

I just saw a convo about that on twitter a week or two ago, the answer was overwhelmingly the Horus Heresy, starting with Horus Rising.

like the other poster said get yourself into the horus heresy series. Its a telling of the entire event of 40k and how it all started from the begenning. The 40k universe is HUUUGE and easy to get lost in. But damn these are some great books. (I'm a huge 40k nerd btw)

So apparantly they made 7 of these as a promotion for this game:
