I noticed Crimson Alliance was released in the US yesterday.
They throw us a little curve ball in that the full game is free, but the characters are 'trial versions'. So you have to buy the character pack that fully unlocks all three characters to get the full game.

It's a little confusing, but the pricing of it seems in line with current XBLA pricing, and it does give you the option of paying less if you only want one or two characters so I really have no problem with it other than it was unexpected.

Since Microsoft said this game is the reward for buying all of the Summer of Arcade games I wonder if the character pack is free.

However, I found the game to be a little underwhelming.
Character customization is limited to changing the color of the attire and the name that appears in the menus.

The game's viewpoint is pulled WAAAAAYYY far back and there is no adjustment.

    Reviews are favorable: Joystiq.

I'll try to download it tonight. I was interested in it because I love these types of games. I think the pricing is a good idea, especially if you save for just choosing one character, which I normally do for games like these anyway.

Play it for a bit before you pay.

Oh yeah, I agree. If I was going to buy something on Live right now, it would be Bastion. That game is pure awesomeness.
