Wow, I didn't realize we were getting this version of Lockdown! I was looking forward to the 1-step, but this is way cooler.

    Here comes Father's Day!

I know from a collectors point of view, I saw these and thought, jeez what a waste of plastic, then my 5 year old son and 8 year old daughter saw them and began squealing! Daddy please!! You have to get me that Grimlock!.
Congratulations Hasbro, you've given them the bug too. I loved G1 Omega Supreme and he was about as articulated as a rusty hubcap.

These were also at the Culver City and Fox Hills Mall Targets in Los Angeles last night. I didn't realize they hadn't been spotted in the wild yet.

Probably, but judging by how that's how kids are these days when they're not cyberbullying with ipads, I think it makes sense.

Same here. :)  To be honest, I like the flip and change Grim more than any of his other iterations tied to this film...

Source? (I'm gonna say "your @$$" cause that was a bold statement to make without any source! :lol )

Here's a fun story, though: my 2 yr old doesn't recognize AoE Optimus. I've tried and tried to tell him the one-stepper is Optimus, but he isn't getting it. (And point of reference, he's AMAZING at picking out a RED Optimus from a line-up or store shelf). The lack of red... it's not just something the fans complain about - children literally have trouble recognizing a character without his signature color. Go figure.

Let's see how the sales go once the movie comes out, aye? :)

I'm not picking on you specifically, but I wonder how many "outraged" fans are still buying these toys? I can't tell if people are seriously denouncing the kid-focused stuff, or just pretending to be ambivalent about it. I haven't quite seen as many "THESE NEW FLIP CHANGERS ARE AWESOME!!!" statements, despite how many of you seem to be interested.

For example, did flip'n'change Grimmy work out for you guys? The videos made the transformation process look iffy and messed up.

I got the Drift flip-changer, and I have to say he doesn't flip all that well because his arm can get awkwardly positioned and prevent the car from closing up. But if you manually change him without the butterfly-knife-theatrics, he works pretty well and is ACES for kids! :D

Well, I think Split's comment was more about the fact that these toys go through focus group testing, IE kids liking them is why they get made in the first place, rather than a supply/demand comment. Could be wrong though.

    So... which is it then?

But in the movieverse, Optimus is more blue than red. Your two year old is two... which means he's probably only seen Transformers Prime on a more consistent basis. That's a fairly simple red-on-top-blue-on-bottom color scheme.

Though, 2 isn't a definitive age for color recognition anyway. Most recognize them at 18 months, but it can be up to 36 months before the actual colors and patterns sticks with them.

Or, he could be color blind.
