Possibly. The Netflix logo at the very end might lead me to believe this was just a promotional opening teaser and not the final product.

It is curious that there aren't any behind the scenes credits in that intro. No "Created By" or "Based On" or "Executive Producer." That suggests this is either only a promo piece or at least not final.

I am interested to see it now. Kusunoki is the voice of Galaxy Convoy.

Some thoughts from the new trailer
-I think this is more of a proof of concept of what is going to come from this show then the remake of the opening, this one we actually get banter and it sounds like the writing has nailed the characters (spike prioritizing eating over chasing a bounty/vision of his past, Faye doing her own thing ignoring everyone, Jet trying to keep some sense of a group together.)
-I'm cool with yoko kanno doing the music, but is it more the license to use the music or is she going to do anything original for the show? I'd rather have someone else take a crack at the show. I know its blasphemy to think that but if your gonna do something new get new people.
-Kind of dig they are going all in with the 70's movie vibe, I hope the gimmick with the brackets is not used, fun for the clip but would get old fast, also I hope this is not an "aware" show like something with deadpool

... I wonder if "The Lost Sessions" takes place between episodes 24 & 25 of the original series?

I went in with bottom of the barrel expectations and still came out disappointed.

it’s just reeks of bad cosplay. None of the actors feel like they were trying to act, they didn’t believe they were playing characters that live in an existing world.

And Jesus, who thought the moving partitions was a good idea? It could be very cool in an original IP, but this is supposed to be cowboy bebop, which never did stuff like that.

I doubt the entire show is going to be like that. At least, not so rapid-fire/hyperactive. This seems to be a teaser vignette, and not particularly canon.

The idea of the frame breaks is that it somewhat replicates the blocking of the OP.

Personally, if they manage to do that across the whole series, for stylistic scene transitions, I honestly think that'd be cool as fuck though.

I had a feeling we'd see Yamadera and Hayashibara back as Jet and Faye but like holy shit they managed to get everyone back for this aside from the late Unsho Ishizuka.

Taiten Kusonoki as Jet, yeah that can work.

and also Black Convoy in Car Robots, Optimus Prime in Adventure, Jazz in the first movie and most recently Nemesis Prime in the Netflix WFC series.

and he literally dubs every tough guy in Hollywood including John Cena, The Rock, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and even Sylvester Stallone on occasion.

Yeah, that trailer left a lot to be desired. The representation of the characters feels awkward and forced. None of it gives me very high hopes.

I don't know how they did it, but they managed to make Cho look a lot older than he is.

Thanks. I needed a good laugh. I definitely like it better this way.

The last scene of them sitting and talking felt really on point.
Definitely willing to give the show a try though.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but can I have the shitty panels things back? At least that had something to it! Wow was that a bland trailer. The teaser had these characters having way more personality, in the trailer their personalities are just dead. They make Rey Palpatine look charismatic.

It's interesting how so many different teasers can all be so bland and uninspired in different ways.

This really looks not great. You can excuse the teasers/trailer however you want, but the production looks cheap, the actors look like they just don't care, and the whole thing is lacking energy and personality. The "action" scenes look weak as hell. It feels like, well, a soulless cash grab attempt at capitalizing on a popular anime.

Can we get the english voice cast of the anime to redub the actors? I may just watch it with Japanese audio and subtitles, those voice actors sounded like they were putting more effort in.

Even that doesn't really interest me too much, especially now that the real Cowboy Bebop is on Netflix, I might as well just watch it there instead. But, I do agree, it does sound like they put WAY more effort into their lines than these actors.
