With Beast Hunters incorporating animalistic vehicles designs and Dragon Transformers, Generations pulling out 4 different beast-formers and Tankor and Age of Extinction flooding the shelves with Dinobots, could we be inching closer to a new Beast Era within the next couple of years?

Or is that time forever past and Beastformers will remain a relic of times gone by only occasionally dug up as one-off characters in all vehicle casts and toy releases that go for the G1 style of strictly inorganic Robo-beasts?

I don't think it's likely so long as the current paradigm is shown to be profitable. We might see beat aspects, like in Predacons Rising, but a fullblown "THEYRE ANIMALS NOW" seems unlikely.

With the way the Beasts went down via Beast Machines and RiD it's doubtful

Organic beast modes could certainly be brought back but it'd probably be as a sub-line to a show that wanted to explore how transformers understand organic beings. I mean, you could do something decent with them never having even imagined organic beings and life on earth being utterly alien to transformers.

Considering Beast Wars came from a "Transformers is damn near totally dead, so lets go nuts" place, it's unlikely we'll see a similar all beast line unless the situation ends up the same, or maybe the big overall toy trend is animals for some reason.

Well that was what they were testing with the whole Prime's BeastHunters thing. To see if people were into animal transformers.

Which over all I think is a silly idea having a vehicle only or beast only eras. Just do a mix.

Ideally a mixture of vehicle and beast mode transformers would work better. Give fans more options like that.

Though if a new Beast Era would happened, I pray it's all new characters. I don't want to risk seeing the characters I grew up with brought back and done badly in a new series.

The best way to get what you want, is to make it yourself.

You'll wait around forever to get something back you feel is lacking in the world. There is a lot of room in fiction these days. Only one transforming robots series? A genre with only one title? That's crazy. Make a series of robots that turn into animals, put a new spin on things. Transformers could use some compition.

We are sort of in a mini-Beast Era when you think about it.

BH Predacons, AOE Dinobots, Generations Beast Wars.....it's not much but at least its there.

Really. The last few years have given us toys of guys like Whirl, the Wreckers (including IMPACTOR), Cybertronian Alt modes, dozens of remade (not simply homaged) classic characters, Straxus, Jhiaxus, and the single largest Transformers figure ever produced. I don't feel there is ANYTHING truly "off the table".

I actually think we WILL see a big push towards Beast-era nostalgia in the coming years. 2016 will be the 20th Anniversary of Beast Wars, and if there is any nostalgia to mine with that franchise iteration (and I would say the Fan's Choice selections does point to some) we will see it get a significant acknowledgment from Hasbro that year, and I still feel the emergence of Predacons last year and Dinobots this year point to Hasbro "softening the market" to animal Transformers.

That said, I also feel that given the shape and scope of the brand, we will not see beast-centric Transformers form the entirety of the brand, but just one slice of it, just as we are now seeing a brand capable of supporting movie and Classic product on shelves at the same time. This situation also precludes the type of massive reinvention Hasbro had to do to create the Beast Era in the first place.

"THEY'RE ANIMALS NOW" wasn't even the entirety of Beast Wars. The entire aesthetic, basis for the show, micro-continuities, et all were all entirely dependant on the fact that it was not a revamp, or brand new continuity/universe, but a continuation of what was the only Transformers universe. Unless you took the gamble BW did, and entirely revamp the cast and story but leave it a continuation, I don't think you're really doing another "Beast Era" so much as "giving them animal modes for a bit."

If we're talking shows and films? Probably not. As for the comics, however, Rattrap and Waspinator still exist, so there might be a slight chance we'll see something happen there.

Sadly, as others have said, the beast eras have come and gone and probably won't return.

As a full on "era"? Probably not. Like said earlier, there are plenty of "beast" type tfs out and coming out right now, so I think we're good.

Unlikely to come about as an era centered around an animal/beast theme again. I'm sure bots with beast forms will remain around as it's been the one constant of Transformers in any era with a varied emphasis. It was an interesting time to see Transformers slowly resurrect on this basis in the 90's but I don't see history repeating itself.

Considering all the secondary lines TF has become these days I could easily see a Beasts-Only line happening.

Personally I'm happy with a mix of beasts, vehicles and devices. No need to go entirely in one direction or the other and possibly alienate customers.
