As the rest of the fandom was, I was dissapointed to see Shockwave barley doing anything, almost not speaking, and dying in three seconds. So I have a possible theroy on this whole unfortunate situation. Is it possible that Shockwave was just a random Protoform, just with a different head and body? Forgetting Rising Storm and Foundation at this moment, could it be DoTM Shockwave was just random fodder, and not a high-ranking (or important) Decepticon officer?
It's the "final" movie for bay. Ever Con from here to Cybertron was fodder. For the time Shockwave had he was awesome, He looked great too.
Uh...no? During like half of the Chicago battle they were like "OH NOEZ SHOCKWAVE COMIN!" and Optimus Prime was like "THAT'S SHOCKWAVE, HE SCARY, AND HE GOT MAH MECH TECH" and Shockwave didn't die as fast as the other generics.
Shocky is not a random protoform, even Optimus, Wheelie, Brains and the nest soldiers treated him as a Big problem
As mentioned, everyone treated Shockwave like a big deal, so that theory makes no sense. Other facts: - The Driller is one of the most powerful beasts seen in the Movie-verse, I doubt a random Protoform would be the ringmaster of such fearsome creature. - No Protoform is resistant as Shockwave was [he was about as resistant as Brawl was in the first movie]. - No Protoform ever managed to knock out Prime with one shot. - Shockwave's weapon was far too advanced [and caused far too much damage] to be a Protoform's weapon, that shit was like a hand-held howitzer.
In Chernobyl, Prime said: "That was Shockwave" and it seemed like he was a big deal, plus, protoforms don't have names, or lines, or toys, or personalities.
