I can see it being where Ratchet is shot down in the boat scene and all of us assumes he is dead. But he makes a surprise return in the last Battle to help one of his fellow Autobots in trouble that would be awesome

 

I sure hope so because that would be a cool redeeming scene.

 

Wasn't Ratcher Spotted as a new white and red deco in AOE eariler shoots? In the trailers we see him still in his older color deco. Plus Takara redid Ratchet in those colors too. So maybe he's sill alive?

 

No, people were spotting township and city first responder ambulance vehicles that were on stand by as are needed with films like this and everyone jumped to the (Oh! That has to be the new Ratchet bandwagon)

 

The only night scenes we've seen so far in the film is Ratchet's 'death' scene set at night on the docks - would make sense for the emotions of the scene and to show successive eradication of Autobots if those that die are killed at night time making it easier to edit together for a short montage at the beginning of the film.

That's my best guess anyway - if Sideswipe does return it would be for a cameo in a new alt-mode and he'd be killed fairly quickly.

 

What I meant is there was 2 nights that Bay shot at the GM Delta plant on private closed sets. The Cien and Buick concept cars were used there in similar set ups on display like the Stinger Pagani display scene. The classic 60s model Bee car was used in the Delta plant shooting as well.

 

This reminds me of people refusing to believe that Ironhide was dead when he never showed up in any of the Chicago battle filming in DOTM. People even believed he (and the twins) were on a mission elsewhere, when the most obvious and easy thing to believe was that he was dead.

Sure Ratchet could be limping around Hong Kong in robot mode but I doubt it very much.
That scene where he is exterminated will be to show what has presumably happened to the Autobots other than Bee and Prime and to cement Attinger as the badguy.

Ratchet is dead meat.

 

Each film did kill off a member of the original Autobots when you look at Bay's track record.

TFTM= Jazz (murdered by Megatron)
ROTF= Optimus Prime (murdered by Megatron, cheated death by Matrix)
DOTM= Ironhide (murdered by Sentinel Prime)
AOE= Ratchet (murdered 'chump style' by... lol... humans)

All that's left is Bumblebee and a 'zombie' Optimus lol lol.

As much as I don't want to see Ratchet die, I'm with the majority of others, He's going to die.

Edit: After watching the movies again I've become quite attached the Ratchet.

 

I'm 100% sure at this point that Ratchet will definitely NOT walk away from the attack of KSI.

 

What the heck does KSI stand for?

 

I still have no idea   All I know is, they're the robot making bad guys.

I really don't want to see him die I really don't. I grew up with this Ratchet and to see him killed off is going to blow! But he doesn't even have a toy this year. He is as screwed as possible.  

 

I have a theory that rachet hunts down autobots like crosshairs,hound and Drift and bring them to earth for prime and the he stays in space.

 

So the meaning behind KSI hasn't been revealed yet?

Yeah he's dead meat. It sucks but it looks like Bay doesn't care about offing TF characters other than Prime and Bee.

I wouldn't get too attached to Hound Drift or Crosshairs either. They all survive this film (I think. According to set photos they seem too) but they could easily bite in the sequels.
